Favorite beer under 5.5 abv?

All my favourite beers are under 5.5% ABV. I've tried, in my over 50 years of beer drinking, pretty well beers of every strength and found nothing in the spectrum with an overall enjoyment factor as great as well brewed low gravity beers.After a while the more modest flavour levels are forgotten and the thought that I can keep on drinking them for a few more hours is a happy one.

 

The two that come to mind are Carton Boat and Evil Twin Sour Bikini.

Uinta Baba Black Lager. Also my favorite "diet" beer at around 120 calories I think...

 

There are way to many under 5.5% ABV for me to rattle off in one comment but one of my recent favourites is a Session IPA made by Muskoka (Ontrario, Canada) called Detour. It has all of the great characteristics of a West Coast IPA with a 4.3% ABV. How wild is that!

 

21st Amendment Bitter American (lots of malty flavor and clocks in at 4.2)

 

Prairie Standard for light, Odell Cutthroat Porter for dark.

I don't even have a favorite style under 5.5%, there are so many to choose from.

I'll just throw one beer out of left field to give it some love: St. Bernardus Extra 4, an amazing beer at 4.8%.

 

Surly Bender! 5.1%

 

Firestone's 805 - 4.7

 

I like even numbers, so going with under 6%.
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald (5.8). There is no lower ABV I like better anyway

 

Don't have one. Was thinking of watering down a heady and seeing what that would taste like. Will report back.

Tallgrass 8-Bit Pale Ale is absolutely fantastic and I recommend it highly

 

According to my ratings, Cantillon Lou Pepe Kriek is my highest rated beer that's under 5.5%. Fou Foune is a close 2nd, tied with Cantillon Iris. As for a non Cantillon beer, and something that's more easily attainable, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout and Organic Chocolate Stout are my easily attainable beers. Lastly, Weihenstephaner Hefe is also on that list.

 

Awesome beer. Easily my favorite rauchbier. Love having it with BBQ food.

Anderson Valley Gose or Westbrook I would have to say. Although Boat beer was pretty damn good too! I have not been fortunate enough land a Cantillon yet, so I can't make the remark.

Mosaic Black Bitter made by Brasserie Du Mont Saleve that impressed me very much.

According to my ratings its a 3 way tie: NG Strawberry Rhubarb, RR Beatification or CW Wine barrel belgian blonde w/peaches.
