So I think the confusion here is that on their taproom board the description is "Citra. Citra. Citra." - nowhere have they said the phrase "triple hopped." The joke there is that the other beers are described with all the hops they use (i.e. "Simcoe. Mosaic. Ekuanot.") and this one only has one type of hop and lots of it. "Triple Hopped" is just how another user on here interpreted that.

I could very well be wrong but I believe it's kettle hopped with citra then double dry hopped with citra. Hence the three citras. Either way, I just talked to Lee the head brewer/owner a few minutes ago at Frisco BBQ fest and he said they're canning 15 barrels of it so there should be plenty.

Curious to hear reviews of the canned experience roll in. Had one last night and either my tastes have changed dramatically since the 2015 days or this beer has gone downhill or some combination. It seemed maybe oxidized? Honey notes, dark and murky color, and almost no detectable brett character. Let me know what you guys taste.

Honestly thought the can I had was a huge upgrade from the last bottle I had. The Brett was all stonefruit, none of the funk or astringent dryness. The hops popped a lot better. Depending on the quality of the can fill, though, I can see this one being temperamental.

That was my same experience in every aspect of your description. To me it tasted like a stale west coast IPA. Zero brett character.

I just had one. Next to zero Brett. I'm going to let the rest of my cans sit for another month or two. It's a fine IPA as is, but I think it needs more time to be something special like the ones of years past.

Just got back from Yak and Yeti, and wanted to take the time to recommend their Sun Temple IPA. They call it a NE-style IPA, but to me it just came across as a really good and balanced "new school" IPA (maybe something along the lines of the new Dry Dock IPA, but with higher clarity). Good levels of tropical fruit and orange flavors, but still paired with a medium bitterness and not that much haze to my eye. If they end up canning that as part of their planned packaged release in the future, I'd definitely be a buyer.

I was in Frisco this weekend and had a couple IPAs from Outer Range. I was really impressed. One was a hazy IPA and the other was a West coast style. In total, I think they had 6 IPAs on tap. I highly recommend them.

Saw some New image at the store but I've never had anything by them. They had Paul Vermont pale ale. I was just going to grab it but it was $10 for a 4 pack. Thought that seemed high. So I was curious has anyone tried this beer?

I like NI's East Coast Transplant. Only beer I've ever had from them, but I'd put it amongst my CO haze favorites.

I though Paul was delicious. Well balanced, clean. I think the East Coast Transplant misses the mark. One was fabulous.

Also stopped by Weldwerks yesterday since I was up that way, tried the Alpha Bits 7, great fruity nose but tastes a little bit bland, not a lot of the hop character came through. Also the Steambarrel IPA, what they are calling a 'West Coast IPA'. Like many west coast IPAs I expected it to be rich and sweet but ended up well balanced. Nice dry finish, but a little bitter on the end for my liking.

Beer guy at my local handed me a 4-pack of Paul last time I was in there, said he only got one case and he remembered my last purchase of 2 4-packs of NE style IPA (East Coast Transplant and Logic is Relative- Fiction). Didn't see a price, already had a few other things in my hands, so I paid and thanked the dude. Saw $10.99 for the 4-pack and figured it was a double. Nope. 5% pale. It wasn't bad- not a ton of hop aromatics but a big lemon burst finish and that soft NE feel. Re: IIPA/DIPA, The Fiction was discernibly better than Transplant FWIW.

I got sucked into the black hole of trading beer on Facebook.

I can only speak to the 4 pack of cans I opened.

Not a single resemblance to the first batch, not one. Murky brown clarity (as opposed to golden haze), massive vegetal nose and notes. I honestly loved the first batch so this was a serious disappointment for me.

My picture game on here has always been garbage but hopefully it will show the visual differences at least.

Outer Range is the truth. Rustic Ways is the best hazy beer in the state IMO. In The Steep isn't far off. Cans being released tomorrow!

Have you had rustic ways in the last week or so? The latest batch is tasting phenomenal. Think I'm gonna head over there in a bit. Love living 5 minutes from it.

I like some of Outer Range's ipa/iipa options, Crooked Stave's brewers series iipas and ska modus mandarina.

If only they canned... I guess I'll have to continue to be a Melvin fanboy when I can't make it across town.
