Oh the irony of making a comparison while complaining about comparisons. It will never get old.

    That was uncalled for.

Just to keep this on topic, the IPA's at Cerebral are pretty interesting.

I just saw this upcoming year round offering. I'm really hoping it's as good as it sounds on paper. It seems like they just literally bought every hop that holds a juicy/citrus profile and through them in the bottle. I counted 11 different hops.

Anyone actually tried it? I'll await the lovely scolding's if this is very old news.

Sounds interesting... Have seen a lot of IPAs lately with citrus pitched in...Baere has a beer "Billion Dollar Baby" that has orange pitched in...I thought it was pretty delicious. I guess it's their DIPA with citrus.

Read post #1529 down... it's on this page :stuck_out_tongue:

Just messing around. I've not tried it but would like to if I could find it on tap. Don't see myself commiting to 6 NB fruited IPAs though in all honesty, too many great IPAs out there right now

Yea, agree on the buying a 6-pack comment......unless said 6-pack is crazy on sale. I'd love to know the order of hop's in regards to amount of each.

I went to Argonaut tonight to check it out, but they didn't have sixpacks, only 12. F**k that, I'm not committing to 12 bottles of a brand new beer

I tried the Citradelic last night. It's not bad. Wish it had more body to it. The late addition hops are nice.

The Glutiny pale is pretty decent as well, especially for what it is. Doesn't beat Stone's Delicious, but I won't turn one down if it's offered to me.

I'm also very curious about Citraelic. I haven't been a fan of NB's hoppy beers (in general) but this one sounds good on paper. Hopefully someone gets it on tap so I can try it before committing to 6 or 12 of them.

I couldn't agree more. I thought I was the only one who was underwhelmed by the Codename: Superfan beers. I'll take the Station 26 single hop cans over Codename: Superfan any day. And it's not anything like what Trillium is putting out. Worlds apart.

To me i like Superfan better than the single hop station 26 beers. But I like juicy banger quite a bit more than any of the codenames..these are just my opinion.

Your also right Arrogantb I was out of line.my bad.

Also to the comparing beers. I do it all the time. I was just kind of being tongue and cheek. Aaron will text me about a beer and I always ask well how does it compare to this other beer..

    Cheers,

    Davey

I haven't had 4.0 yet but I really liked 3.0. Right now I'm liking the Superfan more than the single hop S26 beers but I'm on a serious "NE" style IPA kick so that could change anytime. I think the comparison can be made that Superfan is an "attempt" at the "NE" style and not so much a comparison to the breweries that have mastered it. Tree House and Trillium can't be touched but I appreciate the effort by Odd13 and it's a decent beer IMO. I think where some people may get turned off is when they are expecting a Green or Vicinity and they get a beer that is a shell of its competition.

S26, Odd13, Cannonball Creek, Comrade, all are making great IPAs. I will drink all of them at different times because none are going for the exact same thing and so they're all different hop profiles, different levels of maltiness/balance, haze vs. crystal clear, that's all great to me.

The more great local IPAs the better. I don't need to measure Odd13 vs. Trillium and Treehouse since I can't drive 10-20 minutes and fill a super-fresh growler from any of those breweries. I don't need to compare Odd13 and S26 because sometimes I feel like a hazy/juicy IPA with multiple hops and sometimes I want a nice crisp and clear single hop beer that showcases that hop. I'm even willing to step around you Stapleton peeps little snot-nosed kids to go get that growler

This is probably the best it has ever been as far as fresh local hoppy beers, certainly since I've lived in Colorado. I'm not hating on anyone for supposedly not measuring up to some tiny brewery 2000 miles away. I'm good with the locals.

2014/2015 definitely seems like era when Colorado IPA's really started to embrace hefty late-hop additions and reduced malt presence.
We've been "the amber state" forever. While I dig that, I can admit that we were not on the IPA cutting edge compared to some other areas. That's definitely for better or worse as I don't always feel that newer is better. At the same time, it's pretty cool that we no longer have to hunt down beers from elsewhere to cover those cravings. NM being only a few hours south doesn't hurt either. There's always Melvin north of us, too. We have the heavy hop stuff covered now.
You have to think we'll see more of the hazy/soft/citric thing sooner than later. I'm still on the fence about how necessary the haze is...but I still have yet to taste anything from anywhere (haze or otherwise) that matches what the best New England places are putting out. The haze might not matter, but something they're doing up there IS different. Some still taste like onions, but some taste like full-on hoppy orange juice. I dig that, whatever the hell is causing it.

Yup. And for the non-extreme-hop-heads, we still have plenty of local old school IPAs more on the malty side, also available super fresh from the source. Everyone wins. I don't think Titan, Modus, et al are going anywhere any time soon

Colorado definitely picked up its game. A year ago if I were asked for a really good local ipa i would probably just have said odell. Now there are a nice amount of really good ipas and ones I for sure like over odell. I think right now juicy banger is my favorite colorado ipa. I havnt had super power in awhile so can't compare.

So TRVE tunnel of trees is really good? I remember seeing something about this beer a few pages back. It's on there website as being in tap now. I've never been or had any TRVE beers but always enjoy trying new ipas and breweries I've never been.
