Altamont Scarcity is on right now at Gourmet Haus, Redwood City.

Would love to try Power Plant, or anything from those guys for that matter.

Why categorize them? IPAs are on a level that defies cheat codes, for you gamers. Sit back, and enjoy.

Only one I had this year was Power Plant - about 12 hours after it was bottled. Thought it was fantastic. It's been a few years since I've had Simtra or PtY. Although, based soley on the time when I tried each of these beers, I'd go Younger, Power Plant and Simtra. Not a very scientific method.....

Both Power Plant and PtY were excellent.

Found a random bottle of Power Plant last night after I had it a few weeks ago. Slightly better when I had it the first time, but still top notch.

Have to see if I can find another one or two.

Since I work a normal M-F, 8-5 job with no ability to take off early for beer, I doubt I will ever get to try PtY.

I'll just drown my sorrows with Simtra, which I am told is every bit as good when it's fresh. But how would I know?

Got to jump into this one with Lawson's Triple Sunshine which I had last spring. It was great to say the least.

    I don't enjoy most Triple IPA's. HI-Res is okay, but this.........from Hoof Hearted:[IMG]
has changed everything. It might just be my favorite beer.

its not as hard as it used to be if you can take time off, a few friends walked into places with PTY and were served immediately, no wait, multiple servings. One got lucky enough to get four 16 oz pours. Helps to live near Oakland and Sacramento.

    My favorite triples this year

    Thruster - Pizza Port Carlsbad
    Fastback x3 - Bear Republic
    Notorious3 - Boneyard
    Compulsory - Iron Springs

honerable mentions from the bistro triple IPA fest

    Miser - Societe
Nod n Smile - Triple rock (possibly collab with drakes, I forget)
Sippy Cup TIPA - Pizza Port Solana Beach
    Scarcity - Altamont

Didn't get around to PTY this year, totally should have met a friend for drinks last Sunday, he ran into PTY and drank for hours. I didnt think it would last that long, so I said no thanks on a 45 minute drive on a prayer, next year Ill know better and just wait for this place to tap their keg.

Informal pol based on the posters to this thread indicates Cali dominates the triple ipa fan base...continuing to lead the country in new ipa directions. What's next???

As was Dark Horse's Double Crooked Tree and Evil Twin's Molotov Cocktail (the former being released in Feb).

If only... a friend of mine got to have some the other day when the tapping happened at 5:00. By the time I could have gotten there and parked, the keg was gone.

Then, another friend got some later in the night. She didn't let me know about it, so I missed that one. Could have made it, had I known. Oh, well...

I was working out at that time. Have to get rid of some of the beer I've been lucky enough to have already.

First, I refuse to be baited by a dude that calls himself Skunkpuddle.

2nd, I'm blessed enough to have very close friends and family, so those weekends are set up by them, so I go along with whatever those plans are. 3rd, I don't work weekends, so I'm not sure how I would take them off.

    Cheers!
