Hey, I sent a package out FedEx last Thursday night from Boston to San Francisco. It was picked up Friday evening with an est delivery date of Friday 09/28/12. Here's my worry - the ast time it was "scanned" was on 9/22/12 leaving the Willington CT FedEx facility. I'm getting worried that it's "lost" someplace, as it seems to me that it should have been scanned someplace (anyplace!) between then and now. Any experience with long "lag" times like this? Fingers crossed that it pops up in SF tomorrow!
You should be fine....I have shipped several times from NY to CA and get a lag in updates....a few times I got the leaving from NY scan, then on the truck for delivery scan. You will be fine! edit: I try to ship coast to coast on a Monday to avoid sitting, and lack of updates.
No worries, Jeff. I've shipped WC many times...sometimes you get the update (if they actually scan it) and sometimes you don't. It all depends on the details. If you preprinted your packing paperwork and put it in the plastic holder, sometimes the scanners don't read it just right. When they're scanning dozens (or more) packages on the truck, I'm sure it's not the first thing for the driver's mind. Once it's at one of the central facilities, the auto scanners are worse. I've had ones go without notice from both Cambridge and Wilmington with no intermediate scan and yet they arrive as scheduled. If it doesn't work out, we can always hit CBC. = ) -K.
Pretty normal, just watch for updates, there will be a "delivery exception" if there is a problem. If it's not there Friday, then you may want to call them Saturday, but I would say you have nothing to be worried about.
Yep, that is normal. I ship from PA to my trading partner in CA all the time. If it's picked up on a Monday, it will be delivered there on Friday. I don't normally see an update until Thursday when it arrives in CA.
I have regular trading partner in Washington....we both use FedEx, and from Tennessee to Washington it never shows a scan....I wouldn't worry about it...
All my packages go through Willington, CT. Your truck in particular if probably heading straight to San Francisco, meaning no stops in between.
