Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest 2013...

A couple more of interest have come along:
-- Southern Tier Schizophrenia, which is a bourbon barrel with blackberries added version of Choklat. If you need a gross base beer for delicious bals, this may qualify
-- Bear Republic Cuvee de Bubba, a very nice sour from up that way. Most NorCal people will have tried it, but I'm not sure about many others. I'd still like to see the return of Altered Beast.

 

It should be easy to find. Last year it was outside.

Hmm...barrel-aged Indra Kunindra.

 

Ha. out of curiosity I aged a bottle of that from the first release and had it a year later. Yeah, it didn't age very well. Not terrible, but the spice profile that made it unique was all gone. I wonder how a barrel aged version of it will be. On the plus side, BA-three sheets barelywine.. oh, that stuff has destroyed me at tap take overs.

For BA 3 sheets, it depends on the barrels. The rum version tasted awful to me, but I really a few of the others.

 

Mikkeller and Firestone collaboration called Lil' Mikkel. Sounds interesting since it wont cost me $13 for a small bottle of it.

 

FW finally announced the Mikkeller collab they made last year, Lil' Mikkel. I can only assume it's a spin on Lil' Opal.

 

That would have to be Port/Lost Abbey. So far, they've only announced Carnevale. They'll bring a lot more than that, but it likely won't be rare.

I agree on BA 3 Sheets. Last year's BA Syrah 3 Sheets was amazing, it kind of tasted like a BW blended with a flanders red it had a nice acidic taste to it, I had this years at Stone a few weeks ago and it paled in comparison to last years version

 

Totally. The Syrah is really great. The rum was a very rare dump for me.

I can't believe it going to be over 100 in the day and 55 at night. Looks like I will be doing a wardrobe change mid beer tasting after the event.
