Dang! Haven't seen a mail in rebate for years and definitely never for a beer!

I bought this last week for 9.99 a 6pk. I think it is fantastic and better than SN HazyLittle Thing. I drank 4 cans in 1 day, then had it on draft Sunday and it was great as well. Easy buy for a fresh ipa.

Another vote for absolutely fantastic. It has a lightness to it that is nice after the glut of chalky, yeasty fruit-hop forward ipas.
Could easily see a hyper local hyped up brewery pushing this in 16oz cans for 16.99+ and I would buy it more than once!

    Way to go Firestone-Walker!

Hoping some of that batch shows itself in my area! Would love to have it for the Superbowl.

Saw it at Whole Foods in my area so maybe check the big stores first.

I dunno, I'd say some of their Leo v. Ursus IPAs qualify as New England-style.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to trying this. I feel like they're going to nail it and it's going to be great. Everything from their Leo v. Ursus series has been top notch.

That sounds great to me. I prefer my oat/wheat IPAs with a large percentage of said oats/wheat. Once you get to about 30%, it's so thick and creamy.

Same. I prefer even my NEIPAs to have at least a touch of bitterness still.

If it’s like Patrick Hayze, you’ll be happy. That beer had with some carb and a touch of initial bitterness, you could still tell that FW made it. Very proper

Cool. Someday I might find it here 150 miles north of Paso.

I hear you. Living here in southern California I thought I'd see it by now in my area, but nope. It's a little frustrating when you're hearing for the last couple of weeks about people in far off states going into their local convenience store and it's readily available, but right here in the state where it is made I can't find it anywhere near me.

I've checked FW's website but to no avail. Mind Haze is not listed on their "Find It Near Me" page, and when I click on "Find All Beers" it doesn't come up there either. Hoping they'll update that soon. I've physically visited many stores in my area and can't find it. The closest place I know of that carries it is about a 40 mile drive from my house each way, so I don't feel like driving 80 miles round trip and spending more money on gas than for the actual beer itself just to try Mind Haze. Oh well, guess I'll just keep hoping they'll send some to my area soon.

Dropped near Sac last week. But I've yet to find the December batch of Pivo. I'd much rather have that in my fridge.

Where are you in SoCal? I picked it up at the Total Wine in Redondo Beach last week.

It's pretty tasty, for the record. Interesting, not a NEIPA, something different entirely.

    From the press release:

“…a hazy IPA that sets the pace with a luscious texture, explosive tropical hoppiness…”

The above sure reads like a ‘NEIPA’. Why are you of the opinion that it isn’t?

    Cheers!

I'm (unfortunately) up in the Victorville area. Closest place that I know of to here which carries it is the Total Wine in Rancho Cucamonga.

While it certainly looks hazy/unfiltered, it doesn’t have the soft/juicy mouthfeel characteristic of most popular NEIPA’s. I find it to be much more crisp and astringent.

    It’s a bit of a hybrid.

Crisp and the concept of astringency aren’t often talked about in the same sentence. How can something be crisp if it’s astringent?

The term “crisp” is typically followed by the word refreshing.

I don’t think they are mutually exclusive at all.

Have you tried the beer? I’d like to hear your thoughts.

I’m waiting for it to arrive here in Illinois. Hopefully later this week I can give it a go.

Think that may depend on the degree of astringency.

Agreed. I haven't submitted a review yet, but have sampled the beer. I too feel that it's more-appropriately labelled as a hybrid, rather than solely a NEIPA. My $0.02
