Some tasty casks for sure. Looking forward to the vanilla Moo Joos and the bourbon barell aged double IPA from Hinterland.
I got to try Fulton's new Pale Ale at their tap room on Saturday (thanks Mikey!) and it is Fantastic! Super sessionable at 5%, dry finish and a nice balance of citrus and floral hops, I thought I got a little lemon grass in there... Very good. Definitely get one of these on Saturday.
Honestly, I don't think the price is too outrageous; I just can't justify that much on a day of drinking with how little I have in the bank right now.
The one year I somehow managed to get Winterfest tickets, it was crowded as hell, lines were stupid long, the food ran out early and there really weren't any more one offs than any other beer fest I'd been to. It was at the Mn History Center. I'm not saying Firkin Fest is perfect and it is almost uncomfortably crowded, and the line to get food isn't even worth it, but I've still managed to have a great time at each and every one. Less tickets this year, so I'm interested to what effect that will have.
Can't wait! Looking forward to Saturday. Had a nice night here in DC tonight at ChurchKey. They are still pouring Surly and talking about how great it was. Looking forward to all the beers, especially the Fulton stuff, and per the Surly rep at Brit's they are bringing five firkins, and four they have never done before.
