First Live (exclusively) Beer Event in Texas!

Nobody even noticed the dump buckets were all Miller Lite or Bud Light buckets.

The music...yeah, I was and am on the fence about that one still. Obviously the target audience for this thing isn't a normal beer festival attendee. It is REALLY aimed at guys like us. Unfortunately, there aren't a boatload of guys like us either. We had a few meetings about music and I was really against it. I tried to talk to folks there and the weirdest thing of all is that everyone I talked to was on the love it or hate it side of things. So, if I had 50+ firkins and doubled the number of tickets, I think the majority of ticket buyers will be folks who might really like to try local beers, and their staple might be Fireman and Pecan Porter and Live Oak Hefe. Not that there is anything wrong that, but you see what I'm getting at. For me personally, I would not take a date, girlfriend, or wife to a beer event like this because I don't want to talk to them...I'm going to take a bunch of dudes that will nerd out with me. Most of the people that attended, were not groups of dudes. So I would like to find the balance here, because I'm a beer geek putting on a bit of a weird fest but I'm not going to be able to make it successful if it is just the 150 beer geeks that dig it.

Regarding number of firkins, I had the "final list" weeks ago. The reason some had 3 or 4 and some had 1 is because that is what I requested from them. A few showed up day of, most didn't. I did have some that we never got into (including Black Metal and El Cedro).

Definitely not a bitchfest at all, dude. If people don't bitch, I won't know what else to improve from an attendee standpoint. Afterall, I didn't pay money to be there.

Did you see that we have a picture of you from the event? You were getting either an Indy beer or H&G beer.
