Does this mean I won't have to go to Duluth to get my bottles of BA ED and Framboise? That's all I need to know!

Now that they'll be in the same town, I smell a reality TV show... "Hops & Hoops: brothers in brewing" or "Hoops vs. Hoops: a brotherly brewing rivalry"

Good news. Be better if they could sell growlers/750's there though.

Who said they won't be filling growlers once the brewery is operational?

An ownership group can only sell off sale out of one location. Same reason Town Hall cannot sell growlers out of Town Hall Tap, and Herkimer can't since they sell sake off sale out of Moto-i.

Excited as hell for this, which I read last night right after a GREAT first time at The Public House (Lift Bridge Hop Dish and Bahn Mi Sliders FTW) and a couple good pints at Fulton.

If they brew onsite, they will be able to sell growlers. Just like Granite City.

Explain why Herkimer and Moto-i can't both sell off-sale then? Never purchased off-sale from a Granite City, do they sell growlers?

There was an article a while back about Herk/Moto and how they both couldnt sell off sale. Cant find it now. Someone that knows the laws better should chime in.

I'm not sure what regulations prevent Herkimer & Moto-I from selling growlers, but then again, I never cared to find out.
All Granite City locations sell growlers.

They do, but they only ferment on-site. Not sure if that's how they get around the law or not.

I confirmed with Alvey that locations that brew on site can indeed sell growlers/750's, regardless of how many locations they own. Now im excited for Fitgers MPLS. Wildfire!

Maybe the law was changed. Maybe, Herkimer is selling growlers again (heven't been there in a few years). I could care less, except for the fact that growlers of Fitger's might be a regular in my fridge.

You a fan of that beer? I thought a 7 oz. pour was enough...holy shit!!!

Everyone should go read Al's (feloniousmonk) review of that beer.

Wildfire did however make some phenomenal Beer Brined Turkey.

Looking forward to the brewpub here and can't wait to see how that stage in the brewery thing works out!

A good buddy has been working in Duluth for the past three years, so i get a growler of El Nino and a growler of Wildfire bi-monthly. The wildfire varies wildly batch to batch. Ive had it be melt your face off hot, other times its more aroma and with a lingering heat. After the first pint you start to numb up a little and can typically power through the entire growler, if you see fit. Which I have on a couple occasions. Now the next day is a different story however.

I love the fact that they have it as a year round beer. Everytime i have bought a growler, they ask 'are you sure you want wildfire?'. Apparently many get confused and think its starfire pale ale. That would be a shock to the system.

I have had a few Wildfires and agree it can vary greatly, but 7 oz. is enough for me. I would much rather have a growler of Starfire...great APA.

Fantastic news, love everything about Fitger's - hopefully, the fish tacos make the migration. When I was visited last October, I added a shot of Wildfire to a Big Boat Oatmeal Stout - fantastic!

Wow, this is great news. I get to the Duluth Fitgers 2 or 3 times a year and love it.

The new Minneapolis location is within walking distance of where I usually stay.

    Count me psyched!!

I was at the brewpub this weekend and asked my server if I could use my growler at the new location once they were up and running and she said it was all a rumor. I was pretty confused with her statement.
