I tried a pint of it and would probably have to drink it next to the regular to tell the difference.

Glad you made the trek to Cary. Love what those guys are doing right now.

And they just did their first bottling run of a Brett IPA a week or so ago.

So, the share was disappointing last night.

I had a good time. Really awesome people out there. No white whales being shared, but that's not why I went. I tried some solid stuff that I haven't had and been wanting to try.

I guess I went kind of expecting similar quality to the Olde Hickory Spectrum share and that is where I messed up. Tons of people there, just not what I expected. People definitely seemed to be having a great time.

Usually the Foothills share isn't quite the level of what you saw at Spectrum, unless you are part of a tasting group on Saturday morning. Also, usually the SC release has smaller numbers anyways.

Many of the folks I know skipped the Foothill's release and went out to Heist.

Besides the share, how was the release?

I just went for the share. Didn't really care about the release since the beer hits wide distribution.

Or to Burial... My group was planning on going to Foothills (and stop by Wise Men), but after Burial announced Houtenhamer, that's where we ended up instead. Glad I did since it led to picking up Houtenhamer, Hawkbill, BA French Toast, and Lost Toys 2...

I guess they had plenty of bottles left since nobody has even mentioned them running out

Yeah, there should be plenty around this year. Will probably hit distribution in a week or two.

seems there will be multiple drops of it this year given the volume produced this year

Nah man - I know it's not universally hyped, but I know plenty of folks in Charlotte who I respect the hell out of, beer-wise, who go nuts for that shit. I'd say it's hyped by a load of folks in NC and SC. Not nationally, sure. Cheers!
