I really liked the Mackinac Fudge KBS so I'm excited for this one. Imperial stouts with cinnamon are one of my favorite things!

Hoping they bring back Maple Mackinac Fudge at some point, though I've squirrelled some away for the time being. Definitely excited to try the new one as well

Really excited for the new one. I love espresso as well @KRug I’m interested to know how those MMF are aging. That was probably my least favorite KBS variant but I have seen a few laying around at a couple places so I might give it another shot if you can recommend them to me with some age on them.

I'd say you may enjoy MMF more with some age on it if the fudge was too intense the first time you tried it since adjuncts are typically first to fade, but you would need to get the aging just right so that the fudge is muted but still present, otherwise you might as well drink a standard KBS. IMO if you didn't enjoy MMF the first time, you'd be better off buying a fresh KBS variant that you do enjoy rather than trying to age out the primary appeal of a variant you don't.

I'm definitely excited to try this new Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa variant, but I suspect I won't enjoy it quite as much as I do MMF or Espresso.

I’m not necessarily trying to age anything; I was just wondering if it was worth buying one to give it a second chance given it obviously has some age to it at this point. I’ll definitely continue buying the others as well because I do enjoy those quite a bit. Cheers.

That sounds amazing, I'll be purchasing at least 2 4-packs. I've been waiting for them to give KBS the vanilla treatment.

Maple Mackinac Fudge was (is still) $24/12oz 4 pack. If this is the same price I'll be passing on it too.

Well stouts and coffee. I'm all set with a pale lager and coffee.

A KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge and the predicted humidity this week go together like tuna fish and ice cream.

About the same. You're hard pressed to find BA stouts with adjuncts under 50 cents per ounce as this one is.

BCBS is around 76 cents per ounce

Dragons Milk is around 40 cents per ounce

Anderson Valley BA stout is around 59 cents per ounce

BA Narhwal is around 40 cents per ounce

And yes, I know you can get these beers on sale, etc. This was just a quick look.

Lager and coffee is a combination that doesn't quite work for me. To be honest I didn't think I would like it going in but I try to keep an open mind.

I have not enjoyed the bottles of MMF I’ve had recently. I thought the beer was solid enough when it first came out but honestly it felt more syrupy, cloying, one dimensional and clunky with each successive bottle. I had one a few nights ago and could barely finish it (it was probably #3 or 4 by then to be fair). I’ll probably try the new kbs variant but expectations are low at this point. I felt the espresso was unexceptional when it first came out, too.

tastes are tastes though. I had one of the recent nemesis bottles the other day and really dug that and I seem to be in the minority on that one.

You mean someone actually knows how to make something other than an IPA? Hope all you other brewers are paying attention. This beer is gonna sell fast while all your IPAs sit on the shelf being lost in a sea of IPAs.

After burning out on OG KBS, I've been drinking KBS variants for the last two years. Last night I cracked a fresh OG KBS, and didn't care a lot for it. I've really gotten into add-junk variants of KBS, BCBS, Central Waters BBA Stout, Dragon's Milk, Surly BA Darkness, Prairie BA Stouts, etc.

To me, CBS is still the standard. Maple Mackinac didn't measure up imo. I thought KBS espresso was a great innovation - to me that is the true Imperialized Breakfast Stout. This one I think i'll take a pass on.

I've had CBS twice in my life, both out of 12oz singles... one time I bought fresh and drank still cold out of the bottle and wasn't too impressed( my fault)
Second one I let sit for about 9-10 months and poured into 4oz taster tulip over the course of an hour and was fuckin blown away by how great ot was.

CBS has a huge bottle/keg variation from my experience. Not necessarily in terms of body but in what components are more prevalent. Assuming both of your bottles weren't from the same 4 pack, this could have contributed as well.
