250 tickets per day @ 2 bottles per person for 6 days is 3000 for the ticket release
waiting to see what the ticket price is. I know it says all sales go to a local charity, but I have no idea how much they will be.
FYI - The tickets will not be free - if you click through to the ticket link it says the proceeds from the ticket sales are being donated to a charity. http://m.bpt.me/event/268294
The ticket link says the bottles are $23 already including tax and Mi deposit. Thats not so bad after all..
The blending of the two barrel treatments plus non-barreled beer sounds promising. Hoping for a large distro release.
Can't wait to not be able to get this in Michigan!
that was supposed to say "cannot wait"
Think we're saying the same thing here
Founders just said on their FB tickets will be 5 bucks and the proceeds go to Grand Rapids Whitewater
I'm really not sure how I feel about paying fro the privilege of buying beer, though the charity aspect does make me feel better about it.....I do really want some of this, but Im just not sure. I suppose I could take my chances on the distro but I know that's going to be nigh impossible too....
If it were more than $5 and not for charity I'd agree 100%.
ya 5 bucks and for charity really doesn't hurt for this. I'm just sad I don't have the time to make the trip up for it, here's hoping distro will be nice to me for near the boarder >.<
$5 is definitely doable. If this wasn't Founders, I wouldn't be spending collectively $51 on two beers, but since it's a month off, I can save up a little bit for it, so I'm completely on board with all of this. Plus, you know $23 per bottle of this is the cheapest you're going to get it. Once it hits distro, you know that shit's going to be gouged.
This is a great cause for anybody who gives a crap about natural resources (or likes to canoe, kayak, fish), cheers to Founders for helping to get this done. Getting a winning ticket would be pure gravy.
marked the Nov. 19th on my calendar, will start calling upon the shops i know will get it a few weeks before to see if anybody is doing lists..
Generally, how early is a special release beer like this added to a distributors catalog for their clients(beer stores) to place an order? I know I've called places before and they have been like it's not on the catalog so we aren't going to make a list till we see it's even available to be ordered... i figured it would be on catalogs for order between 3-4 weeks before distribution from the brewery.. just a conjecture on my behalf though, anybody more knowledgeable please chime in if possible.
For sure. Im going to try for a ticket. Also who knows, It being Founders maybe they will make it even more worth the effort and the trip.....not that it isnt already but you know maybe a special tapping or something to sweeten to pot.
Can't wait for this to hit my area! Love me some barley wine.
Where did it say $23? I must have missed it.
from Founders: "We will be selling this product in our taproom using a controlled six-day, pre-ticketed release. There is a limit of 250 tickets for each of the six release days. Each ticket reserves the right to purchase two bottles of Bolt Cutter, at $23 each (tax and deposit are included), ONLY on the date specified on your ticket. All reserved bottles are to be picked up in our Company Store during regular business hours (link: http://foundersbrewing.com/store-contact/). "
Dammit, why the hell are they dry-hopping this?
To help keep me from drinking it inside of 5 years.
Another story from mlive.com.....
Good read. The growth is staggering. 5000 barrels in 2007 to 75,000 this year? Wow.
Got put on "the list" at my local shop yesterday. So excited for this one.
Ordered my ticket for Sunday.
That was really easy.
Me too, as did a buddy. I'm a little suspicious that both of us got tickets so easily. Everyone else get theirs?
Very smooth ticket order process. I think FFF could learn a thing or two here...
Got my ticket for Friday boys! Grand Rapids here we come...It makes my decision on which way to head to FoBab that much easier, looks like the LP is the way to go.
Ticket ordered for Tuesday, the 13th! Lucky number.
Friday tickets here....easy ordering
Score. Monday the 12th is a holiday for me, and now I get to pick up some great beer!
Ticket ordered for Sunday as well. I agree this seemed way to easy.
Indeed, I thought for sure the Internet would've collapsed, but very smooth process. Good job Founders!
Easy score for a ticket for myself and ticket for my wife for Friday 11.16. Frickin excited for that weekend!!!
Was thinking the exact same thing....
maybe it was easy due to the fact you have to pick a specific day
I refuse to believe I actually got tickets until I see scores of BAs complaining about them selling out and getting screwed by the kapcha
I'm happy BPT could handle the server load. Went very smoothly.
