Founders KBS release. Who's going?

What day is this release and when is it going to stores?
I had a nightmare last night. Went to the beer store and asked if KBS was in yet, the guy said they had a ton in the back but they won't sell me any. It was terrible.

 

If you showed up much after 9 last year you missed out on a case. I am not sure you need to show up a 6 to secure one but I would plan on getting there by atleast 8.

 

I will be there. I agree that 6:00 seems early...

 

What's the parking situation like? Any suggestions on where to park?

 

A bunch of the SE Mich BAs will be there rollin in style. I'll have to take a picture of multiple cases then post on here to piss some people off.

 

I'd guess sometime in the 8 o'clock hour would be fine. If you're interested in being closer to some of the better group drinking/bottle sharing action, then earlier is probably better, but I do hate to think that the required arrival time is gonna keep getting earlier and earlier as people get paranoid about missing out.

 

I know a couple people who are going to be there LONG before 6am... just sayin.

 

It's too cold in Mich then to be there LONG before 6am. I prefer sleep so I can be well rested to drink all day... just sayin.

Will there be no end to this insanity?

 

I started a thread on this on the old beeradvocate site, had quite a few people saying there gonna be there, also started a thread on ratebeer and got a couple people interested including some people camping out and bringing beer to sample. I work about 10 minutes from founders so im gonna be getting there around 3 am, look for a guy in a black deftones hoodie.

 

No sarcasm meant on my part, I was just trying to re-enforce your point. It's too cold to get there at 6am! I can't wait for KBS day, it is always a blast.

 

I'm aiming for 6 am, although I plan on going to Founders the night before so it might be rough waking up so early.

Not sure what I'm bringing for bottle sharing, probably more bottles from the Bruery Reserve Allocation I got (Mother Funker, Sour in the Rye) and maybe a bottle of Oude Tart batch 1. I've also got a bottle of 50/50 Elijah 18 I've been meaning to open.

 

This will be my 5th KBS release...if the trend continues aiming before 6 AM...

Times have changed...1st year (2008) showed up at 1PM, walked in, sat down, waitress came over took our draft and case order (2 limit back then), no problem...

 

yah its funny I was there in 2009 and I went in around 5pm got a couple glasses on tap and a 4 pack no problem. now its like insane to get some!

 

I will be there, with friends in tow, likely early enough to engage in some sharing. Was a blast last year.

 

Not again! But that is some funny shit!

 

Does anyone know when it's released to distributors? I unfortunately don't have the option to go to Michigan for KBS day. My own business won't allow that. Does anyone have any idea when it's released to the outside?

I'm hoping to swap some bottles here and there, and probably not planning on drinking much, so I might bring a "special" bottle to share, and that's about it.

 

I'll be coming up on Friday night, open for making some IP trades and will definitely be sharing in line, can't wait!
