Hi Everyone, hope you enjoy start of summer.

Alright pick one or the other I'll tally at end.

To me, hands down Founders wins. Love their beers especially in comparison to Bells. But curious what you all think. Cheers!

Year rounds goes to Founders for sure. Founder's year rounds are fantastic.
Stout goes to Founders with KBS, and BS
IPA goes to Bells with Hopslam and Two Hearted.

The true winner's are us, because I love them both.

Bell's easily. A more diverse portfolio and they just do a wider variety of styles better. They easily have better IPAs and wheat beers, and they arguably have better stouts (at least a wider variety). They make a kick ass lager, oktoberfest, and berliner weiss (Oarsman).

The only Founders has over Bells is their Old Ale with Curmudgeon and I think Third Coast is pretty close.

Founders beers are good, especially when compared to the goodness of Bells beers. But Bells beers are good too, often when compared to other beers, or not, sometimes Founder.

    Damnit, what was the question?

I give a slight edge to bells, and that's only because I just bought the mini oberon keg.

    That thing is badass!

Great question! Love them both, both are strong in their own ways, but will give the nod to Bells, again becauseTwo Hearted on draft is really hard to beat.

Haven't tried anything from Bells yet, and really want to. But, they would have to be kick-ass for me to enjoy them better than Founders (my personal favorite brewery).

Really? You'd rather do that than set up a poll. OK...
I have to look at this question as "What Bell's or Founders beer can't be replaced by some other beer?"
This leads me to realize that while I like KBS, I like Parabola at least as much. So I'm OK there.
I love Expedition, but there are other comparable, readily available non-BA imperial stouts.
Founders Porter is a favorite, but I've found a great local one I like at least as much.
I've only had Hopslam a couple times but there are plenty of good sweet DIPAs out there.
None of the other Founders IPAs have really blown me away. They're about average.
Yep. The only beer I haven't found a 100% suitable substitute for is Two Hearted. So Bell's it is.

Founders by far. Not even close. Hopslam and Two Hearted are overrated. For me, the only thing worth drinking from Bell's is Black Note.

Also from the same region I'd take Three Floyd's year round beers over the year round lineups of Bell's and Founder's. Since Red's Rye is no longer year round, Founder's year round value drops at least 15% to me.

When Founders tries a lager....ANY lager....or wheat beer.......or........basically remove the dark beers from their portfolio (of which theres a zillion fine examples out there) and they're sneakily not as impressive as they seem.

And by "try" I mean have one in their regular line up.

Founder's easily. Bell's IPA's are good but don't wow me like Double Trouble and now All Day, and while their special release stouts are delicious, they still fall short compared to IRS, KBS and FBS. Founders you always know the beer will be great, Bell's is either very good or terrible.

You sir are out of control! Two Hearted is all that is good in this world. I kid of course but you are still a little out of control saying Black note is the only thing worth drinking from one of the best breweries in the country....

Also Two Hearted alone makes Bells the winner for me, it is better then any Founders beer I have had by far... Both are crazy good breweries so choosing in semi pointless anyway... Which is better a million dollars worth or gold or platinum????

Both are fabulous no doubt. From a personel preference though I love the Red's Rye P.A. so I gotta give a very slight edge to Founders. The two hearted Ale from Bell's is a great one as well. Like the guy said before me..............I'll go with the one from Michigan

Hey now. This thread is the first time I posted curious about comparison and your opinions. The thread a few months ago was about Bells being over rated and it was shut down because of a few rabid posters on this board. A few from bells area in particular.

Founders RIS over Expedition (very close)
    2 Hearted over Centennial.
    Hopslam over Double Trouble.
    Founders Porter over Bells Brown.
KBS over batch 9000 or Black Note, also close.
Then Doom, Bolt Cutter, Better Half, Curmudgeon, Breakfast Stout, etc, vs. Oberon, Oarsmen, and many other very good ones.

I thought close at first, but other than the IPAs, Founders nearly takes the sweep. Hopslam is one of my favorite beers, to the point I take the day off work to drive around and buy as much as possible, but the matchups speak for themselves. Founders barrel program gives them the edge. Loved Doom!

I agree with you 100% Overall Red's Rye P.A. is probably the best beer in general that I have ever had. I have tried a lot of beers and live in the backyard of FFF's which is also great but if I was told that from now on I could only drink one beer and I had to decide right now what that beer would be............it would be Red's Rye P.A.
