Frankenmuth New Years Imperial Stout 2012?

    I opened one last night and it is sour and delicious. I mostly bought the beer to use the bottle and hopefully get an ok stout but I wasn't expecting anything too special. So I just wanted to know if anyone else has drank one and had it be sour also? And I wanted to inform anyone who has seen these and passed up buying one that mine was sour and delicious and reminded me of JP madrugada obscura.

    I can't help but be curious, is it supposed to be sour, or is it just a lucky accident? I passed on buying it, but I'm in love with Madrugada Obscura, so I might reconsider if any is still on shelves...

    As a sidenote, you posted the 666th thread in the Great Lakes forum!

    I'm supposed to be getting one soon. I went to a brewer's dinner at Zazio's in Birmingham with Frankenmuth and got talking to the brewer's son (I guess, can't recall his name) and he was all about getting me a bottle of this beer.

    the bottle I shared a couple months ago tasted nothing like Madrugada Obscura. I love JP Madrugada Obscura and would remember for sure.

    The Frankenmueth New Years Imp I thought was nothing special average Imp Stout. Nothing sour that's for sure

    I don't think its supposed to be sour. Also my bottle was #266 and me and a buddy drank the first glass at whatever temp all my beers are in my basement and the second glass more near room temp. The second glass was much more sour.
