seems PDX just got a lot of fresh hop drops from around the NW.

unfortunately it appears most all of them are a few weeks after canning. not ideal.....

No disagreement on the premise, but take a look at what Mike Lee had to say last night (to the extent that a tweet with typos is a statement).

Looks like Cowiche Canyon hit Portland yesterday. Hoplandia posted they got some.

^ Speaking of which, I just opened a can of Cowiche after a long day of work. Sometimes it’s nice to try something new, and sometimes it’s nice to fall back on a reliable favorite. Cheers NWBA!

... and within minutes, a fruit fly/gnat landed in it. I think I need to keep a little screen over my beer glass when I sit outside, which is most of the time when it’s beer o’clock. And maybe that’s another million-dollar invention idea I just gave away for free.

Snagged a couple new Fresh Hops....Sunriver's Dakine, Logsdon's FH Saison and grabbed one of the last Cloudburst FH beers from Tulip Shop Tavern in Portland (also snagged one of their stouts.

The Cloudburst was fantastic as was the Dakine as they were very different beers.

The Cloudburst had a softer mouth feel and was fairly fruity and tropical while still having just enough bitterness for me to really like it.

The Dakine was straight West Coast hoppy goodness But mail it out a little bit after warming.

We have a local nano brewery/one man operation and dude always has a beer in his glass when its open. Often it'll take him hours to finish as he runs around tending to an active brew and fetching beers.for people. He has this little soft umbrella looking thing that fits on top of his glass to protect it from just such intrusions

Woke up 30 mins ago quick shower. Now at Westside drinking GoodLife 150 Hippies FH pale ale. Quite a nice pint. Better than coffee.

The other option is to just drink it and not set it down?

2nd FH tonight. Boss Rambler Beer Club "Cone Licks".
Have to say its barely above average. The flavour is there but the body and carbonation lets its down..wait...its another of those that loses its shit when poured into a glass. Its a bit better from the can..but who the hell does that?

Drank Field To Ferment, Cowiche Canyon, Head Full of Fresh Hops, and Fresh Hop Crikey tonight. Cowiche Canyon was my favorite going in, still my favorite under current conditions. Still seems softer and brighter. Field To Ferment and Head Full of Fresh Hops both seem to be growing more bitter. Crikey seems to have toned down, but it was also my closer, so I may have been desensitized.

I guess if a brewery is well financed it could possibly have fresh hops flown in from Australia and New Zealand in their season..Auckland to San Fran..then dash dash up I-5 to Oregon?

That’s quite a carbon footprint. I think I’ll just enjoy the season while it lasts.

Yeah ..but just stating the possibilities..also do they grow hops in Chile or Argentina..bit less of a foot print but still significant

Added a few more FH beers to the checklist tonight....

FH cozy chaos @ Ex Novo Beaverton. Another delicious offering from them. Marking a trend of FH beers straight from the source on tap being head and shoulders above most the canned goods. Hops were bursting and I was happy.

Logsdon FH saison. Tasty saison. Fresh hops detectable but not really standing out
