Greetings from Seattle, my Cali BA brothers and sisters. My girlfriend is going home to Fresno next week and I was wondering if I could get some advice on some bottles that I can have her bring back for me. I doubt it, but does anything from Alpine ever show up in Fresno? I'm also interested in some Ballast Point, Iron Fist, and FiftyFifty (if any of them are even available in Fresno) I've been told the selection isn't great in Fresno, but I'm hoping she can pick up a few things I can't get up here.
definitely no Alpine in Fresno, and I doubt you'll see any Fifty Fifty eclipse either, but I suppose it's possible. There is a new beer shop in the tower district (can't recall the name) that I haven't been to yet, it's possible they'll have eclipse. I think whole foods has the best selection overall, bevmo will probably have 'more' but not necessarily higher quality. Ballast Point will be easily had at whole foods or bevmo.
Only one you listed is Ballast Point. Some very tasty offerings from Almanac at Whole Foods. They still have La Folie too. BevMo just got a new Knee Deep beer called Batch 138 (I think that was the number). It was a damn good IPA. They have Simtra and Hop Shortage as well. BevMo also just got in the new batch of Lost Abbey Saint's Devotion. Hope this helps! Cheers!
Fyi, New beer store is called Das Bierhaus. Never been and can't vouch for the selection but probably worth checking out.
I actually work for whole foods so she can use my discount to get 20% off beer, so I'll definitely be asking her to swing by the WFM in Fresno. I'll ask her to swing by Das Bierhaus as well if she has time. I really wanna try Simtra, so it's still floating around in Fresno?
Yep, only place that has Simtra right now is BevMo. Das Bierhaus is a very cool concept, and I really hope it succeeds. Fresno/Clovis need beer miracles compared to the rest of California. I stopped by Das Bierhaus tonight, and the only beers that would be significant for OP to seek out (that he couldn't get anywhere else possibly) would be Palo Alto Brewing beers, Tioga Sequoia beers (new ones include Dry-Hopped General Sherman and a Porter), and some FW beers. They still had bottles of 16 and Sucaba (for bit of a mark-up in price). Also have Double DBA for just a slight mark-up.
21st Amendment will be here in two weeks (I assume on a regular basis, since i seen it before). They have some good stuff if you're interested.
Starting to show up, went by The Fort on lunch and they had a couple variety's of 21st (Live Free, Bitter American, and Watermelon I believe).
