He'll be conferencing most of the week but will have some limited free time to do some scouting. Any rec's for easily available goodies to bring home? Cheers!

Damascene apricot sour is in most stores, upland sours are possible with some luck. 3 floyds bombers are readily available but SRM to be in demand.

If he brings some nice east coast beers like say lunch/dinner etc. he could land better stuff in trade easily

The Upland Public Sour Sale for the most recent releases is on Saturday June 6th if he still happens to be in town.

Sun King still had some bottles of their latest Kings Reserve release Afternoon Delight(Barrel Aged Dominator dopplebock). Surprised it's still available nearly 1 month after release as many of these run out in the 1st day or 2. But it's also got a pretty steep price tag at $22 per 2 pack.

A few bottle shops should have some various Upland Sours available such as Dantallion, Malefactor, Vinosynth Red, Vinosynth White.

Kahn's is a great bottle shop as is the Vine and Table in Carmel. I'm not as familiar with the bottle shop scene downtown.

As the poster above stated you should be able to find a good selection of 3F bombers around town.

If he is looking for the best of Indiana on tap then Tomlinson Tap Room would be the best place to go as they have a rotating tap list of only Indiana breweries. It's located in the City Market downtown.

Twenty Tap and HopCat are both excellent options in the Broad Ripple area about 10 minutes from Downtown that have a variety of rotating taps to get the best selections.

Are the kings reserves, either afternoon delight or any others brewery only or available at stores too?

I have someone possibly coming to visit from Indiana and was going to try and have them bring me something. Don't know what, since it is a friend of a family member, so I don't want to ask too much of them.

I lived there for 5 years and just draw a blank now at what I should try and have someone bring...

You can now get Brugge's Tripel in bottles at local stores, and I'd recommend it.

Took the words out of my mouth - this is one of my absolute favorite locals that comes in bottles.

Best bottle shop downtown is the Crown Liquors at 150 N Delaware. However, if he can get to the aforementioned Kahn's, it's worth the trip. Tow Yard Brewery is right downtown - their beer is mostly pedestrian though. Sun King and Flat 12 nearby just off of Massachusetts Avenue. Chilly Waters Brewing and Fountain Square Brewing are not too far away.

If he's just looking for taps, then Broad Ripple is the best bet for the really good stuff, but we now have a Yard House downtown with a ton of taps... lots of BMC but a decent rotating selection as well. Other good near-downtown bars with lots of locals/craft are Ralston's Draft House and Chatham Tap - Bazbeaux Pizza on Mass Ave also has a surprisingly solid tap list.

If you're looking to try a lot of different things, Parti-Pak is not to be missed. Everything they have in sixers can be bought as a single. This would be a great way to sample many of the different beers from Sun King, Flat 12, Triton, Upland, Tow Yard, etc. They have empty carriers at the front of the store and you can just walk around and grab things out of 6-packs. They have 4 locations, but I've only been to the 96th Street and South stores. Both 96th and the original store on the South Side have massive selections of beer. Just keep an eye on the bottling/canning dates on some of the more obscure stuff.

If you go to the 96th street store, make sure you go in the walk-in cooler. There are several beers back in there that aren't in the regular cooler runners or on the warm shelves.

I third Triple de Ripple. I got one in a trade over six years ago and it impressed me enough that it was always in my mind to go visit Brugge Brasserie if ever in Indy. And when I visited a few months ago, I did!

That's a great overview post, except for flat 12. The majority of people, myself included would tell you to avoid it. I'd prioritize black acre
