Friends don't let friends drink light beer

    I bought a case of Amstel (the distributor initially sold me a case of Sam Adams light which was three months out of date) but that's another thread! I have so far today consumed six beers, 600 calories, pissed 18 times and I am sober as a judge. Should have gotten a higher cal 6.5+ abv case, drank two and been warm and happy. Lay the hate on me for my idiocy BA'ers...I deserve it!

    Alcohol content is secondary. Unfortunately a lot of complexity requires a lot of ingredients=EtOH.

    I would love the flavor of DIPA at 5% but until it comes out-drink good stuff and moderate.:wink:

    If I recall correctly, Amstel Light is weaker than Miller Lite. Ewwww. But, hey!, I know of beers far worse than Amstel Light.

    When offered "lite" beer I accept so as not to seem rude, but it goes down like water for me now. My friends will be trashed off 7 or 8 and im still sober as a bird.

    I can crush light beer when drinking with my bmc friends. They think I'm an alcoholic. I tell them I can only drink 2 or maybe 3 of the beers I like.

    Im mad that you bought Amstel Light. Not because I want you to drink some better tasting beer but becuase it's a rip off. I am one of the few BAs that believes there is a time and place for every style. This includes low flavor, low calorie, light, American Adjunct Lagers. That said Amstel light is not better than Coors Light or Busch Light. In my opinion beers of this grade are a commodity. Drink crappy, low flavor, low calorie beer all you want but for god sakes don't pay import/ "premium" prices for the crap!
