I picked up a couple of bottles from Bruery Provisions and I decided to trade 2 of my bottles away. I was wondering what can I get for my bottle(s) of Fruet and/or 3 Golden Hens from the Bruery?

    Thanks

Three French Hens or Five Golden Rings?

Also, what are you looking to trade for in particular with these? My guess, based on the distro for Cuir and the price tag on Fruet, it won't be too hard to get for people in the Bruery distro area, but it might trade decent $4$ for someone outside that area. I don't think it will be going for anything other than off the shelf beers though. I was able to get Cuir pretty easily and I'm not exactly located close to the Bruery by any means.

Sorry, I mean 3 French hens. There wasn't anything that was I looking for in particular, I just wanted to have a general idea of what they're going for. I'm intrigued with heady topper, but I don't know if its even worth trading for.

It's the number 2 DIPA and number 4 overall highest rated beer (Top Beers- Popular) on this site.. If youre not sure about trading a $4$ valued beer for some Heady, then just drink your beer

    It's VERY worth trading for.

But you can get Heady for less than 3 French hens. There are plenty of BA's who would trade it for off the shelf locals at $4$. 3 FH can probably land you a limited release, but nothing super fantastic. It's out of production, so it has a finite supply, but most people probably aren't that interested if they are not trying to complete the set, I would guess.

Uhh - 3 French Hens is a $4$ off the shelf local. He just bought it.

If you want to get into semantics, the term "off the shelf local" generally refers to regionally available beers, not a one day only limited cellar release at the brewery owned store. Or I could argue that the cellar releases at The Bruery aren't actually on a shelf, they just do case displays, so at best this is a "off the case display" local.

Didn't Three French Hens see distribution?

Of course, and sat around forever. The beer itself is pretty mediocre. I wouldn't trade anything for one.

Exactly. I wouldn't bother trading for it even for beers that are off the shelf locals w/o ambiguity (e.g. Furious).

    Imma let you finish but:
    Three French Hens (3.83/5): 74 Wants | 347 Gots
    Heady Topper (4.61/5): 1,711 Wants | 255 Gots

Three French Hens was distributed, and available at Provisions for forever. Sure, it's a year and a half old, but we wouldn't suddenly call a 2010 Chimay Blue anything other than a "local shelf beer".

It's been gone a long time. It came out a little after Bourbon County Rare, which was another local shelf beer.

It might be gone a long time (from the shelves) but people who have it (and seemingly want to trade it away) far outnumber the people who want to try it (via trading).

Can't say the same for BCS Rare.

Point is, neither one is "off the shelf" anymore. It wouldn't be too hard to get a 3FH but it's still not "off the shelf."

This thread is an example of why the beer trading scene kind of sucks.

No disrespect intended to the OP or anyone else in the thread -- you're not doing anything wrong; you're just playing by the rules as they are these days.

The regular Three French Hens saw distribution and is likely not all that valuable.

There is a limited release barrel aged and soured version called Trois Poules Francais which would hold more trade value.
