So my friend is living in Garmisch and swears that two big beer fests are happening this July in Garmisch (where he lives). I can't find anything about them online, was wondering if any fellow BAers have heard of beerfests in Garmisch? Many thanks for any help!
I think I found what he was talking about....the Heimatwochen. Go to gapa.de, and click on "customs+traditions". Right side of the page. Sorry, I don't know how to include that link from my smartphone! The fest(s) seem interesting. Anyone know what beer is served there?
I plan on being in GaPa around the 20th, showing my daughter the usual tourist stuff. As usual, I've started late looking for a place to stay in the area. Haven't had much luck finding anything except expensive places to stay. Do you have any recommendations? Also, here's a website for the Heimatwoche.
Ah, looks like the featured beer is Löwenbräu and Fraziskaner. I was hoping it would be from some small brewery in the region.
