Girlfriend travelling to Holland

    Hi folks,

    My girlfriend is travelling from Scotland to Holland next month for a week long holiday visiting friends.

    She has offered to bring me back some beer, but not much due to luggage restrictions.

    Is there anything local that you would recommend she keeps an eye out for? I already have a couple of bottles from de Molen, but is there anything else we shouldn't miss out on?

    Brouwerij Het Uiltje has some very nice IPAs or barrel-aged stouts!

    My first choice would be De Molen. After that there are several good options:

    Het Uiltje (brewery from Haarlem)
    the regular ones are good, the specials even better, top picks:
    - The Big Fat Double 5 IPA
    - Lekker Bakkie Kobi!

    Emelisse
    top picks:
    - Emelisse Espresso Stout
    - Emelisse Imperial Russian Stout


    De Prael (brewery located in the red light district of Amsterdam)
    top picks:
    - Mary
    - Doe Maar

    My personal favourite brewery right now is Oedipus Brewing from Amsterdam. I haven't had a beer by them I didn't like. Top pick:

    Hey,

    The Porter CC from Uiltje is also a pretty nice one!
    Uiltje also released a Tripel IPA 11%, Joost mag het weten is the name.
