I recently just had Supplication from Russian River and thought that it was an awesome brew. Mind you that I am new into the American Wild Ale scene and that I live in Ohio. Ohio meaning I have a limited access to brews lol. Was wondering what are some good American Wild Ales that are easy to find, but I wouldn't have to lose quality?

    Cheers!

Good and American and easy to find ayy? Well, Rayon Vert is pretty much a Wild Ale though it is listed as something else on this site.

La Roja by Jolly Pumpkin is decent and pretty widely available. You might also check out other Jolly Pumpkin ales since most have a little funk/wildness to them.

No La Folie in Ohio. On shelves here: JP La Roja, Lolita, Juliet are all good options.

You should be able to find Weyerbacher Riserva

It's so fucking expensive, though. I'd much rather by 2 bottles of Cuvee des Jacobins than Riserva.

I love Jacobins, but it is not an American Wild...

You're totally right. I've been drinking and sleep deprived from finals week, haha. In any case, it's an amazing beer. Good call!

@OP - where in OH are you? I'll list some local disto stuff as your post seemed to indicate you were only searching locally - the oyster opens up if you are willing to trade or buy online, Cascade being an excellent example if this.

In central OH American wilds off shelf would be (at given times of year):
Afore mentioned Goose Island sisters( Lolita, Juliet, Madame Rose)
Rivertown Brewing sours (leave pestilence if you see it....or not )
    Afore mentioned Jolly Pumpkins
    Afore mentioned Riserva ($18.99/bottle)
    New Holland Blue Sunday
Brux (please buy a case if you see it - I'm tired of seeing this shelf turd  )
Unita Birthday suit - newish to Ohio
An occasional Bruery sour (Sour in the Rye still found some places; Tart of Darkness is gonzo as is Oude Tart)
3F Oude - lucky to find except Golden Blend (read $$$$$$ but worth a try)
Cantillon - really lucky to find!!
There are also some brett fermented beers if you want to throw them in the mix.

If you wanted to stray to the next continent East(which you should heavily consider) you could pick up locally amongst others:
Cuvee des Jacobins, Boon, Oude Beersel, Tilquin, Petrus, Timmermans, Lindemans, St Louis line, Mikkellar It's Alive series and Spontan series, Rodenbach, Monks Cafe, Duchesse de Bourgogne.

I would suggest you try a Cuvee des Jacobins, Rodenbach(red and grand cru - both fantastic for $9ish and $12ish respectivley) and a Lindemans Cuvee Rene (another phenom for the price point of $10ish). They may help you detemine wild aspects you like or dislike. Welcome to the world of sours - now just prepare your wallet

Panil Barriquée is one of the absolute best sours, especially compared to Supplication that there is... and it sits on the shelves around these parts.

Many of the beers mentioned so far are foreign brewed and/or very expensive, and/or unavailable in Ohio. In my book that means they either are not American or not easy to get.

If Jolly Pumpkin is avail. in Ohio that recommendation is very good, but I stand by my post that Rayon Vert is easiest to get, and it is delicious (better than any JP if you ask me).
