I know these are subjective terms, but I'm wondering - are there any beers that stand out to you that come from Breweries that are otherwise forgettable?

Always looking for that diamond in the rough...

Here in GA, Red Brick makes mostly solid but forgetable beers but their recent Lost Years spiced barrel aged strong ale is freakin awesome.

In Denver I'd say that Denver Beer Co. tends to have a pretty bad reputation...but their Graham Cracker Porter is fan-tastic.

In my opinion, any brewery that makes a good beer is a good brewery.

Shakespeare Stout, Hazelnut Brown and the XS IPA are great, but Rogue is Rogue.

One of only two Gueze available at stores near me, and this is definitely the better of the two. I have a bottle in my fridge that I plan on drinking tonight.. I will add Laughing Dog Alpha Dog. That beer is very under rated in my opinion.

Agreed on 471. It's what made me finally like IPAs and DIPAs. I still love it.

Interesting, I can't really think of any. Every brewery I think to say makes at least two beers that I enjoy.

It's not available in 'Merica, but they also make a kriek lambic version of it. It too is pretty damn good.

Not yet. Typically I am not a big winter warmer fan. I'll keep an eye peeled and maybe toss one in a mix-a-six next winter.

I agree. Magic Hat isn't bad, just kind of run of the mill. I haven't had Ticket to Rye, though. I came to suggest their Heart of Darkness stout.

I would not agree with the second part of your post. I've actually enjoyed a lot of their beer. I stop by their brew pub every time I'm in Maine. I really enjoyed the Longfellow winter seasonal last time.

I would definitely pop into the brew pub and honestly, I'd probably enjoy it there. Popping into brew pubs of breweries that I am not fond of is like going to a hockey game. I have zero interest in hockey, I don't follow it, I don't play it, I don't care about it, etc. Nevertheless, every now and I then I find myself at a Providence Bruins game and you know what, it's a blast. I figure the same would happen if I went to Shipyard's brewery. Hard to have a bad time in a place like that.

I hate saying this because I'm from AL, but Good People is a mediocre brewery, but their Snake Handler DIPA is world class. They need to distribute it more widely. I will buy Good People beer because it is fairly priced and not half bad (and local), but the snake handler DIPA is absolutely superb.
