Good beer in Beech Mountain?

Your best bet might be to make the trip to boone and hit up Peabody's. Although I would not recommend making the drive down those very curvy roads post beer fest. I actually used to be a part time security guard at that place in beech mt.

 

The Painted Fish Cafe (right across from Sugar Mtn. in banner elk) has decent beer on tap (especially for the area) and good food. They have their menu posted on their website: http://www.paintedfishcafe.com/#!menus

I second Peabody's in Boone. You should definitely stop there before heading home and pick up a few bottles to take back with you. Or even better, stop there on your way into town so you don't have to make the hike down 105 into Boone after drinking at the beer fest.

 

Dunn's Deli has two taps with craft and fantastic sandwiches. Also, the Louisiana Bayou place accross the street has craft and a small bottle shop.

 

Hit Painted Fish for sure for your food/great draft brews! And come see me if you would like to have some true beer geek time! Beer Paradise will be about 20 minutes from you!

If in the mood for good bbq to go with some good and local beers, check out the Bayou Smoekhouse and Grill. Very nice.
