Well, are they at least filling growlers of house beers?

They are, I had the session IPA on Friday and its really good. Easily the best session IPA I've ever had, it tastes like a regular IPA and I would put it up there with the best of those that I've ever had.

The are doing growler fills as @beernuts mentioned but only the flip top style (for their house beers only). They will fill growler styles of non-house beers and you can find their taplist on their site. Below is the direct wording from The Answer on fills.

"We WILL be doing growler fills of our brews....! We will only fill CLEAN FLIP-TOP GROWLERS(for our beers). It can be ours or any clean flip-top! Our 32 oz growlers are available for $5 or 64 oz for $10.
These growlers preserve the freshness and overall quality of beer."

Ok so a Hill Farmstead or similar flip-top 32oz would be ok? Places usually will not fill those because they are such a pain in the ass, but this is good information.

Should be fine. The Answer's growlers are similar to Hill Farmstead. Not the best pic of their 32oz but I pulled these from their fb page so you can see.

Ok, so at the very least, if I still have to drive my wife I'll be taking my growlers with me. Cool.

yeah, still no ABC label approval...
went to Answer last night and had the Petty Larceny and Nelson Sauron. Petty is good, but apparently I'm in the minority in preferring the Nelson (probably because it doesn't taste like Nelson Sauvin)

Had Petty, Nelson and regular Larceny on Friday afternoon. Petty Larceny wins IMO. Awesome first IPA out of the gates for Answer. I had the pilot batch Grand Larceny at Raliegh Rare back in February and it was phenomenal. Grand released on Saturday.

They are also very strict about not filling screw-top growlers with Answer beers, as well. They'll fill any other tap beers in screw tops, just not their own. All four IPAs are really tasty.

I know The Answer posted that they did not have bottles this weekend -- anyone have any idea whether they'll be ready by Thursday? I leave Virginia for a long time this week, and was hoping to stop there for some on my way out.

Nice! I figured when I read An's post about it being at the distributor a couple days ago then it was just a matter of days before approval. That would likely lead to a release this weekend or next I am assuming. WOuld be a great kickoff or end to American Craft Beer Week!

I just called the brewpub. They said both regular and nightmare should be available tomorrow or thurs. If anyone would be willing to grab me some (especially nightmare),I could hook you up with upcoming Mexican cake or other cool stuff. Just let me know.

no updates as to when it's to be released.
I would *guess* Answer will start selling sometime in the next couple days and supposedly some distribution next week

Nothing yet, however, I would be very surprised if they did this release during the week. They have no events announced for this weekend or even next weekend during their American Craft Beer Week celebration. Maybe they are simply waiting for Brown to deliver them so they can say with confidence when the release will be.
