My sister's at Yale, and is headed back to Texas this weekend for summer break. She asked if there was anything I wanted from up there before she headed back, and I know the obvious choices (Ghandi, SoS), but she doesn't have time to go beer chasing for me (and I don't want to burden her with it anyway).

So, what are some easy to find choices that you'd recommend? I'm a fan of pretty much any style, but I probably lean toward hoppy beers.

    Thanks!

It should be in most good beer stores now Otter Creeks Backseat Berner is a good solid IPA and a less than $10 a six pack it is a great buy.

Amity liquor store across from NEBCO should be one stop shopping for your sister. It would be her best bet.

According to seek a brew, these are beers not available in TX:
    Allagash
    Captain Lawrence
    Ithaca
    Jacks Abby
    NEBCO
    Two Roads
    wachusett
    weyerbacher

I would go with Allagash, NEBCO, and Jacks Abby if I had to pick three.

If she's driving home, have her pick up beer as she goes. Great road trip.

You have a kind sister. Enjoy the beer!

Sea Hag. Not as easy to find as it used to be, but chances are reasonably good she could grab a 6er.

^this. Sea hag. Very underrated and pretty available in the new haven area. Not sure if two roads lil' heaven is around yet but that is a good one. If she is flying out of hartford, nebco is sort of on her way up there. Ask her to stop and grab a few growlers, if she shows up right at 3 or a little earlier she will probably be in and out in ten minutes (assuming they don't announce/ tap any of their big beers the day before)

Goodness! Thank you all so much. I'll give her a run down of what to look for. She's driving back, so there's a lot of options (and cargo space).

    Thanks again!

NEBCO Elm City and 668 are great beers too. Then I have heard good things about Relic. Back East Impy Stout is very good. Their porter as well

OEC in Oxford makes some amazing stuff. Especially if you like sours. It's about 1/2 hour from NH. Agree with other posts on. NEBCO, anything they make is really good. Good luck!

New England Beverage in Orange is right off I95 and has a great selection with better prices than Amity near NEBCO. Not too much to add to the brewery list, but allagash and nebco are great. I also like the stuff from FoolProof out of Rhode Island 6ers of cans that are solid and inexpensive. Can probably find some Grey Sail too. If you cant get Smuttynose they are solid too. Hope you get some great gifts!

So easy to fly with a growler. Even easier with a few. No offense, that might be the worst advice ever.

She's driving, although I did post that before he mentioned that. By the way, the whole in and out in ten minutes is highly unlikely now that coriolis is on.
