The passed few days I've seen numerous liquor stores in California posting that they got Hoppy Birthday, Nelson, and Duet in Green Flash bottles with Alpine labels.

Anybody seen this yet or know if this is going national?

Yes, the Green Flash Alpine bottles have already hit other states. They're about $9.99 while the bottles from Alpine are under $6. It sounds like the bottled GF Alpine is tasting better based on the latest check-ins.

10$? wow. If they were 5-6$ I'd buy a few of each, but at $10... eh.

Already hit IA and they were only $6.99-8.99 depending on the store and variety purchased

May be cheaper at TW... website shows $7.99 for 22oz Nelson. That's a little better.

Yep. Hitting here in about 2 weeks for Cleveland Beer Week. Hope they are better than the draft we got a few months ago.

I might be dumb, and if this question is answered, I'm probably still dumb, but how do you know which is which? We get a ton of Green Flash in NYC and some Alpine (probably GF Alpine), but I'm curious to know if I can tell if the Alpine we might get is GF Alpine.

If it's one of those three, duet, hoppy birthday, nelson, and it's in new york... it's green flash. Alpine only distributes in southern california and sends some kegs up to San Francisco.

Kegs are GF, the bottles will either list san diego (GF) or Alpine, CA (Alpine)

That being said bottles outside of CA are definitely GF

Alpine brewed Alpine may no longer exist now? Anyone know about that?

If you get any Alpine there, it's GF Alpine. Bottle, draft, doesn't matter.

I had my first GF bottled Nelson the other day. I can say its definitely better than the draft Alpine we've been seeing. Still not quite as good as the source. But wasn't disappointed like with draft. And yes, $8.99, ouch. I wish I went to southern Cal as frequently as I used to. Loved stopping by the brewery.

We've been getting Alpine over here for a while, at least including Nelson and Duet. While I was hoping for some way to know that I was getting Alpine from the source, I guess my suspicions are confirmed that this is GF doing Alpine and I can only hope for the best.

Can't speak to whether Green Flash is distributing it or not, but up until about 6 weeks ago I had never seen Alpine in Virginia and only once or twice at Churchkey events had I seen it in DC. Now it is all over the place. Something has definitely changed with their distribution...and I like it!

alpine is soooooo small they could never brew enough beer to distro to NY. They can't even supply California. If you are getting kegs its GF. Now the bottles are very easy to tell because they are bottled in a GF bottle. If you've had a green flash bottle you should know what I am talking about.

These are all over the Hampton Roads area (SE VA), saw them in a few other spots as well. Interested to compare- in my mind at least - with Alpine-Alpine bottles which I had a few weeks ago.

Below is something I posted a few days ago discussing my personal experiences in drinking draft Alpine beers in SEPA:

"I had another draft pint of Alpine beer this past weekend (this was my fourth or fifth pint in the past few months). I will not be buying Alpine beer again. I gave it the old ‘college try’ and these beers are simply disappointing; little to no hop aroma on the hoppy beers (Hoppy Birthday, Duet)."

Maybe you will have better luck with your Delaware kegs!?!

    Cheers!

anyone notice that the new bottles call hoppy birthday a session ipa? it's always been labeled a pale ale as far as I know. although, probably the reason it's been possibly my favorite pale of all time is because it basically tastes like an ipa, like the rest of the pales on the short list of ones I like. More hoppy than a lot of actual IPAs.

I had what I'm assuming was GF brewed Hoppy Birthday on tap at a NY bar over the winter, it was fantastic. I usually hate GF beers so I was definitely excited that I liked this one.
