Picked up a 4pk of this yesterday in Boston. Anyone know the bottling date? I know they don't date the bottles, just wondering if any caught the date on the mother case. Will be trying my first one at 4:10 (UNC vs. UVM).

edit: Please excuse my misspelling of "palate".

I'm not sure what the specific date is but I know it's fresh, first time bottling.

Edit: Release says beginning in March, so sometime within the last week and a half.

Second Edit: Release party was 3/14 so sometime close before that.

Third Edit: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2743/45175 This review suggests that it was bottled 2/22, guessing that is the oldest your bottles could be.

    lol edits.

So how is it? I grabbed a single at Julios, but I got too much other stuff I want to drink right now:slight_smile:

I got a single at Julios too, and will probably crack it this weekend. Seemed to be really high price 4.99 for a 12oz, but I have really liked everything by Green Flash.

I picked up a 4-pack at Julio's yesterday and cracked one open last night. It is INCREDIBLE. One of the better DIPA's I've had for sure. Drink it!

how is this different/compare from their imperial IPA in the yellow bomber? How much summit hop is there?
How much is a 4 pack?

Yeah I was wondering—what's the pricepoint on these 4-packs? Or the bombers, if those are around.

Think the date on the cases at Julio's is 3/16. If not exact, it's definitely mid March.

Had this on draft this weekend on a trip out west. Big fan of many other GF products & anticipated I would love it, but was totally disappointed. Muddled, murky & tasted surprisingly malt-foward for a presumed "hop bomb". If I were blindfolded I would've guessed that beer came from Maine, not CA. :open_mouth:)

because maine has a reputation for making bad beer? not following...

Got it for $14.99 at Table & Vine. There were a lot of packs left as of Friday. I wasn't impressed with this. Not nearly a palate wrecker. Sierra Nevada Hoptimum is much more of a palate wrecker than this, and is $5 cheaper a 4 pack. I also enjoyed the flavor of Hoptimum more, though I haven't been impressed with anything Green Flash.

I had some on tap last night - very nice hop aroma, but that did not follow into the flavor and it was severely lacking any middle. Turned kind of boozy when it warmed.

I like it but it didnt destroy my palate, if we're comparing vs hoptimum I feel like gf had more hop flavor and hoptimum more biterness IMO. I also didnt really care for hoptimum.

Thought the face at the end denoted my sarcasm towards maine's rep for malty ipa's.

Had it on tap and thought this beer didn't come close to living up to it's name. Flavor was mainly piney and then fell flat.
