What’s the deal? When will your beer become more readily available to the masses on the east coast?

It seems like the smaller breweries from the NE have no problem distributing across the country (excluding the breweries from VT which we all wish could crank up production)

I am pretty sure Pretty things, clownshoes, allagash etc are available pretty much everywhere. So Bells and FFF stop mucking around, I want your beer and I want to be able to pick it up at a store instead of having to trade for it.

Not really...just annoyed with the limited selection I have in my part of the city...the only craft I get from the store is local and old Sierra Nevada...would like to switch it up a bit.

Well here in Ohio we don't get Clown Shoes, Allagash, or Pretty things.. Not that I'd give up access of FFF or Bells to get them, but just sayin.

We've all been there. But Founders and Bell's distribute pretty widely for their size. I mean Pretty things is something like 4 states and Bell's is around 17 states.

I'll take Allagash and Pretty Things over FFF and Bell's any day. Although I didn't buy much Allagash when we did get them...

You're in Boston. Do you know what northeast beers we get in Kentucky? Sam Adams, that's what we get! (Might be hyperbole, but not by much.) You have to cross town for more selection. I have to go to North Carolina or Chicago. So shush, you!

(You know the tale: the man who had no shoes...)

Really I'm not complaining; I find enough good beers here to keep me happy.

Hmm...odd I have a friend on the west coast that gets Pretty Things but he didn't say anything about trading for it.

It is just a pain to get on the T to go get beer. Fenway may have decent selection at a handfull of bars but the stores themself are soooooo terrible.

According to the oft quoted seekabrew.com, Pretty Things is in NY, MA, RI, VA, DC and has limited distro in PA and CA. Is your friend in Cali?

Yes well that explains it...I just thought these breweries were bigger than Pretty Things and if a smaller brewery can get their beer across the country why can't some of the bigger more established ones? I understand the demand for Bells and FFF is high in places that get it. The only time I was able to enjoy them was when I visited my GF in DC last fall.

Actually a stray shipment of Pretty Things made it into Lexington a few weeks ago. Expected the Fluffy White Rabbits Tripel to be hoppier--it may have lost freshness.

Not sure who's included in "etc", but we do not get Allagash, Pretty Things, or Clown Shoes in WI.

No Cisco, No Harpoon, No NEBCO. Smuttynose is really the only NE brewery that we get (that jumps to mind at the moment).

Edit: Sam Adams. Not sure how much that counts. They are brewed in PA and OH as I recall.

I was going to say, Ohio really lacks breweries from the New England states.. besides Smuttynose, Harpoon, Sam Adams, and Shityard. We used to get Allagash but they pulled out a couple years ago.

Your solution is to move to Philadelphia. :stuck_out_tongue: Apart from FFF, I can get all of those (including the breweries from VT which we all wish could crank up production).

Wish I could exchange clown shoes for some allagash or some other solid brewery

Pretty Things are tenant brewers, but does anyone know which brewery in Massachusetts they rent?

:edit: NM. Found it, Buzzards Bay Brewing.

If it makes you feel any better I only got NEBCO twice last fall I got my hands on ghandi bot when visiting friends in Providence.

I guess it makes me feel better you arn't getting the better NE brews...oh wait no it doesn't.

Sitting here in Iowa I wish we could get FFF, Surly, Great Lakes, New Glarus or Hoppin' Frog, but we don't and we are in the Midwest! However a simple drive to Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota takes care of that and makes for a good weekend. I would suggest traveling away for a weekend to a state nearby where these are available and bring bottles back.

Also, no Clown Shoes or Allagash here either, although I have seen Pretty Things here.
