Has anyone aged this? Just acquired a 4 pack and was thinking of throwing one in my closet.

Let us know how it tastes when you put it to your lips as it comes out of the closet.

I don't see how it would improve, but I'm no expert. Tasty beer.

I'm currently drinking a Foreign Extra I picked up in Jamaica in February, BB date of November. It hasn't been properly cellared though, as it has been sitting in my fridge from then until now. Nonetheless, it is definitely more sour than I remember, and smelling a bit funkier. The sourness was almost too much but it mellowed out, properly aged though.. who knows!

    That sounds terrible.

I have a few of these aging right now. I am curious if it will just deflate in flavor and feel or if the beer is strong enough to evolve into something different/better. I love aging experiments and I quite enjoy Guinness Foreign Extra fresh so I couldn't resist seeing what would happen. I imagine at 1-2 years it will not have gone down hill, but will certainly be something different than fresh and most of the people on this site wouldn't say it had improved. I really enjoy subtlety and nuance (and I bet I will like aged GFE), but it seems that most people here want bold, clear, defined flavors; and of course most beers don't develop those when they age.

My guess it would probably lose much of its flavor. Although my experience with stout that didnt age well was Lagunitas Cruisin with Ruben and the Jets. And I got that at a beer store, doubtful it was cellared properly.

Probably not a good idea other than experimentation wise.

Yeah, my curiosity was purely for experimental reasons.
