Correct I prolly should not have restructured the thread title to "Half Acre to release a new Beer Tomten and bring back a fav"

I still haven't heard from HA why they brought the 32 oz growler to the Chicago beer scene just to rip you off per ounce? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

Because I don't always want 64oz of a draft only beer. I do agree it sucks that they charge more per oz in the smaller format.

Love the 32 oz growler. Better for me to drink on my own before it goes flat. Plus it's a rad design.
And basic economics says charge more per oz in the smaller format.

I agree that smaller formats in bottle forms are usually more per ounce, but I do not see why that should be in the case of growlers? Same beer, same labor, you pay just as much for the glass and its less than the 64 oz (so should be cheaper you would think also), etc.
I rarely buy growlers locally because I think everyone overcharges across the board anyways. Asides from some breweries in CA, it seems like many states growlers are under $15. Why is a growler of something that's bottled/canned by said brewery more expensive in a growler format? Seems backwards.

If anyone is going to the Winter Brew @ Daus Haus in Feb., HA will have Tomen there along with another specialty. I tried to find out what that was, but they seem to want to keep it a surprise. I'm going to hit their section up first. I waited too long last year and all they had left was Daisy Cutter.

my first guess would be big hugs as they had it last year. hoping for one final keg of thunder and son or kegs of barrel aged dripping or bourbon barrel aged baume.

Big Hugs was what I missed by waiting too long. I'm really hoping for the Barrel Aged Baume stout.
