How did they pull it off?
Packages delivered....hoping to see some beer porn soon!
I don't check the thread for a day and I learn that NG is a shelf beer in WI.
Not sure I can handle this info well.
Like Dactrius said, theyve leveraged Spotted Cow to bankroll more creative stuff. NG somehow got a tap handle into literally every bar in Wisconsin, and they understand not everyone is going to enjoy huge hops or huge ABV. however, once a drinker has accepted Spotted Cow, maybe if that's sold out they'll try Dancing Man or Two Women. And maybe someday the guy walks into the store and thinks, WTF? This one has raspberries in it? Ah, what the hell, I do like raspberries.....
The everyday beer from my state's best brewery, Surly, is more MY speed than NG's non-fruit stuff, but Surly's not for everyone. NG is. That's why they're the best.
@ChrisL24481 im sending you a bill for my porch repair.....straight shattered it to pieces.
Pictures coming soon,...to a thread near you.
Lurpy is pretty spot on. The only thing I would add is that it's also due to extreme homerism. From what I've heard a lot of breweries don't distribute to WI because they simply can't compete with the local breweries. Given the choice between spotted cow and oberon or some other non-WI beer most casual beer drinkers will choose the spotted cow every time. Milwaukee is brew city, we have pride in our beer.
I wish everyone drank craft beer, but I fully accept people drinking Miller. However if I go to a wedding in Wisconsin and they're serving Bud I get pissed and wonder what is wrong with them.
My targets boxes will go out tomorrow and should reach him before the end of the week.
My target will get their box tomorrow. So far, they haven't posted; I'm hoping they'll put up pictures of the haul!
Sorry, new to beer advocate wasn't able to post until a few days ago. Definitely excited about getting my porch crushed today!
So you figured me out! My only regret is that I wasn't able to fit a growler of Boneyard in your box ... but there should be enough hops to keep you bitter for a while.
To my target my box will be headed south tomorrow. Sorry for the delay but it will be worth it for you
To my sender I'll be in town this week but out of town next week
#$#$^&^@# I had a bottle on my targets want list reserved and it was sold. Shipping will be delayed AGAIN! Sigh.
I apologize for my lack of forum activity. I am finally back from field work and will get my boxes out soon!
Sounds great! Package landed today, however, I am waiting until tomorrow to open it with my brother. He helped me put together my package for CapnTrav so I won't deprive him the joys of opening our box of goodies from across the country. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Can't wait to see what you picked out!
To my target u say ur gonna be away next week when's gonna be a good time to ship
Actually I just checked with my brother & he'll be in town next week to haul the box in if I'm not home. I'll be gone 4/21-4/26
Cool idea, it really does feel like Xmas unwrapping each bottle & digging through the box
Well thankfully I'm not shipping to CA otherwise I don;t think I could afford the shipping
Instead I'll settle for this being my most audacious box being shipped & the largest coming in at a mere 48.6 lbs & I'll be dragging that bad boy into UPS when they open in the morning & it should reach my target by Thur or Fri at the latest
Never say die! I found a case of the beer that was sold from underneath me. My target will not be getting a case of this beer but will get a bottle from it......finally. I feel much better now.
Shipping 60 pounds of beer and goodies northwest today should be there Thursday hope ur porch is reinforced

Thanks again. I'm going to have some fun trying all these out!!! It was a lot like Christmas looking all these up and finding out more about them. Wasn't familiar with most of them prior to reading about them. (Haven't had any of them previously... especially excited to try the Pliny!!!) Can't thank you enough for all the limited release bottles you sent! Glad I decided to try out my first trade. Thanks also to Hastur for setting this up! You guys are awesome.
Can't see the pictures!!! Must get porn now!
(You may want to try tinypic or imgur.)
I know. I know. Thought i had figured it out... haha
Let's try this again...
I'm glad @Kramerbarthomer hooked you up. Thanks again for setting up this BIF. Batch 60 is easily one of the best sours I've had and the Crabtree Berliner Wiesse is very under rated.
If anyone wants to try some Crabtree, just let me know... they are very small and very underrated... I don't love Saisons and Sours, but they make some of the best I've had...
I tried to stay in Washington and Oregon, but those 2 CA beers seemed essential. Black Raven, Fremont, and Reubens are my 3 favorite Seattle breweries; they all deserve a bigger national reputation. And the Bale Breaker folks actually own a hop farm out in Yakima. Cheers!
I'm kind of hoping @Kurmaraja ends up as my sender in this next barleywine BIf we're both in.... what a sweet haul!
That Old Birdbrain barleywine will almost certainly make a reappearance!
It looks like the beers that have traveled the greatest distance this BIF have landed on my porch finally. Too bad I won't be home for another 9 hours! I may not have time to post pr0n pix tonight but with a 3 day weekend coming up I'll definitely have time to stage some glamor shots.
@CowsandBeer - expect a box tomorrow with swag, plus a growler of something fruity, dank, and delicious. This is my first growler ever shipped, so hopefully it fared well!
Continued generosity from @Hastur23! Growler of Tired Hands Such Passion (Passion Fruit IPA hopped with Simcoe) and a matching Tired Hands wine glass. This dude is ridiculously awesome. Someone send him a bottle of Izzy already!
How many people are still waiting on a box?
This is my first BIF, how do you guys leave trade feedback for BIFs? Same as usual?
damn, @Hastur23, how is that? ive been debating whether or not it is worth the trip.
60 pounds out for delivery
3 boxes sitting on a porch right now
I'm still waiting, I don't really want to receive a box next week so unless it gets here tomorrow I'm hoping to receive it the week of the 28th.
Waiting very patiently as it seems all of the boxes remaining to be sent will be epic
Touch(ton)down! 3 boxes arrived today, can't wait to get home & open them up!
My box got delayed but is scheduled to be delivered to a southwest home tomorrow
