I'm going to be in Haverhill this weekendand looking for good bottle shop for stuff I can't get in vt( I know pour Vermonters)Firestonewalker, Ithaca, troges, ozark blues. My time is tight but planning on hitting blue lobster. I've been to one stop market, good selection but got the feeling that lots of stuff sat on the shelves for a long time any other suggestions?

Another vote for One Stop. Brace yourself for some sticker shock. Andover Liquors is also OK in a pinch - they have some basics.

Your best bet if you have a car and a bit of time would be to head down to Redstone in Stoneham - great shop any day of the week and they are doing a special cancer benefit/raffle this weekend.

Definitely take a trek a little south to Andover Liquors. I was just there and they have got as many offerings as One Stop, maybe more. And their stock at least appears to not be left over from last year. If you're going to Blue Lobster then Top Shelf is right by there. However distribution in NH pales in comparison to MA.

thanks for the info. I hit Academy and Onestop ending up with a good haul. Nothing too rare just some of my favorites Union Jack, 1 double Jack, 3 Yeti, JA six-pack, Lefthand Milk stout, Mad Elf and Hopback amber, saw some flower power but looked like been sitting on the shelf. Ill be back in Haverhill for Thanksgiving should have some Heady, Trade anyone?

And they always tell you with a smile! And they are SUPER knowledgable about the homebrew operation shoved in with the sandwich counter.

They do need to be experts at sandwiches, lottery, darts, groceries, coffee, liquor, wine, the menu next door, homebrew supplies and beer. Just because they don't know where anything is, some things aren't priced and they don't know when anything is coming in do we need to be so harsh? (My sarcastic font is not working)

Don't forget the service with a smile.

Actually to be fair, one of the ladies that works there is friendly / polite enough.

I got a 3 dollar Pepe Nero at One Stop (2012), and also a Port Santa's Little Helper for less than half of what other places I see charge. It's not all bad, just mostly bad. (I did see last years pumpkin beers put out like they were this year's) I think the Grill next door is pretty ok too.

I noticed this as well. Buyer beware. Check the bottle dates whenever possible.

I visit One Stop often, and I think their prices are reasonable. Got Mad Elf for $14/6pk when it's $18 at other places. Some bombers are high priced but I don't think it's worse than the average beer store. I mean, it is Haverhill so... :slight_frown:
