I'm shipping a box to Belgium and I'm stuck on the USPS "Enter Customs Information" section, specifically the "export information" part. Can anyone help me out? They are asking for an AES exemption and listing acronyms without explaining the meaning of them.

Are there any experts on this issue? It's quite frustrating.

Hrmm, the last time I shipped internationally I don't remember having to do this at all. Are you sure this is necessary information?

I'm trying to print postage online and it won't let me pass this step without some AES/ITN bullshit

At the post office? I'm thinking this whole online thing is not worth the $8.50 savings on a $100 shipment.

Did one last week with someone and didn't have to do that online. Did you select gift? And make the total value lower than $100?

Strange... Not sure what we did then, good luck:slight_smile: and maybe you're correct not worth the $8 savings

Hmm. You shouldn't have to have any of that nonsense on such a low value package.
See if there's anything that says "Exemption Code" or "FTR Exemption". If there is, use code "NOEEI 30.37(a)"
That basically says that your shipment is worth <$2500, shipping to one party, through one carrier, and thus doesn't need any of that extra paperwork. Hope this helps!

(I ship things for a living.)

I'm pretty sure I use the last one, (h), due to the explanation given. I've not encountered issues. I thought that's the gift option?

You label your beer as a humanitarian donation. That's awesome

Haha. If you click on the box when shipping at USPS.com, it marks it as a gift or humanitarian donation. If you read the link, it seems to indicate that the package, gift or donation, is being shipped to a terrorist country. Apparently, central Europe qualifies.
