Or 4s and 12s of everything..
dang ill be there on fri
Haha I was joking with the growler comment. I'd bet every special beer will be in 4 or 12 only.
Holy Crap! Liver dont fail me now.
Quick update: Growler fills will be allowed of First Chance, Cranberry Saison, and... wait for it... Nina's Templeton Barrel Aged Quad. Hopefully that puts a smile on a few faces.
How likely is this to spillover into the other rooms? It'd be nice to "comfortably" watch the Broncos' game AND still sample the mid-afternoon pours. Besides, focusing is going to be difficult enough once I've ticked off the opening rounds.
Front Bar area is already full. Empty throughout the rest of the brewpub tho
Definitely no growlers of Clare's????
Anyone know if its half barrels or 1/6 on the special releases? Running late and won't get there til Claire comes on...and was hoping to ride the rail today
Not necessarily true...
Every beer poured today is at least a half barrel.
damn everyone keeps talking about this "Clare's" must be some good sh*t. Ive had plenty of thier beers but not this one.
It is indeed good shit.
Are they pouring in the back bar as well?
Had my first sips at FoBAB, top 3 in show for me.
I was at FOBAB too but missed out on this one & the BA Abraxas
Sounds like an awesome event! Have a great time, I will admit I'm a bit envious. Man, rye barrel Quad...yum yum.
Negative. Back bar is completely empty/not in use yet. They're waiting for overflow to open the back bar which by the looks of things now shouldn't be to far away.
Make sense when its 3 people deep at the front bar....but sipping on Clare so ill get over it
Any idea if the beers will be pouring all day?
Well when Clare was tapped Pete announced they had 2 barrels of it so take it for what it's worth
Correction, 2.5 barrels.
Sshhhhh!!! The other half was for us in the know. Cats outta the bag now.
Party is off the hook at Haymarket...MF DOOM playing in the background
I would pay a small fortune for a growler of Clare. Seriously best beer at FOBAB!!!
Edit: Can someone ask and assure that they are not filling growlers please?
Place is beyond packed. 3 hpur w ait for table. Should be nice and wasted by then. :-)
They were filling growlers of only the IPA, Cranberry Saison, and Nina's Quad, which was absolutely delicious, and well worth the $36 for a full growler.
...gonna sneak in in a bit here.
Even BA could not ruin this event.. walked in around 7 with e erg beer..
Has anyone seen my shoes?!??
What an awesome event. Clares was amazing. It was the last beer I strongly recall enjoying, but I had all but the last 2. Curious how everyone thought that anniversary beer was, which was apparently a combination of several BA beers including Indignant, a barleywine and others. I could have stuck around for awhile longer but I was already quite drunk.
Anniversary was quite good, but despite all the wonderful BA beers, I think über mathias was my favorite. It was seriously excellent. This event was really a cheaper mini FoBaB...that's how good the beers were. I actually liked Nina's over Clare's, but it was splitting hairs.
Holy shit.....had every anniversary beer in a 4 oz for 2 bucks a piece. Clair's is still awesome, the blend was kinda spicy but finished great, cranberry juice gives off a weird flavor, lemon zest doest belong in a barley wine and a port barrel stout is f*ckin delucious.
Dude, wheres my car?
So much fail in this statement
Well I finally had some Clare today...by the time we realized they had ba abraxas it was all gone.
Claire's was something special for sure. Rye Quad was a delight. Lemon Zest BW was strange, but the cocoa BW was tasty. Throwing a stout in a port barrel is brilliant, and hopefully other breweries will catch on to that.
It seemed like all the treated imperial stouts used the same base beer, anyone know if thats the case, and if so, what the name of that base beer is? It was beautiful
yea man, i couldnt believe the most expensive 4oz was $2. Excellent event, the quality of beer at the given prices was unreal
My group def did the same thing with getting every beer in a 4oz pour. Once all 12 beers were tapped I had a few 12oz pours. Party was amazing! Our server was great and very attentive to all of our beer needs. Also, loved when Pete would do the toast for each beer that was being tapped. Cheers to Haymarket for an awesome party!
