I will be driving to Harriet, AR in May from TX and want to support the local breweries. Can you suggest a good one? Cans a plus, but not required.

What's a good store to visit for selection?

You'd probably be better off asking in the South forum though.

I've heard great things about Lost 40 from friends who live there. Also Rebel Kettle and Stones Throw.

Luckily, all those breweries are very close to each other, Rocktown Distillery is right down the road as well. They make award-winning small batch bourbon.

Go to Big Orange Midtown for awesome food and a good tap/bottle list.

EDIT: Just read you would be up near the Buffalo River. New suggestion: bring beer with you. Sorry. If you're going to float the river, it is a great experience.

Yes, check out the South Forum. Also you are up north if floating the buffalo, so the Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers breweries are close by. If you go up there by way of little rock, you can pick up some beers on the way up.

The closest wet county to you in Harriet is Baxter (Mountain Home). Don't know of any good shops up there--there is one listed on this site but no real review. I bet they sell Piney River in Cans from nearby Missouri. In nearby Big Flat, AR is a taproom at Gravity Brew Works run by former GABF winning brewer Bill Riffle. It's only about 15 minutes away from Harriet and he makes awesome beer. Don't know the current hours or status so look him up and call ahead. I think you would be limited to growlers, so get you a metal one and you are set.
