Well okay, now we're expanding the portfolio! What locals are you frequenting and what are you sampling?
I’ll eventually get around to adding the 2000-ish reviews from Untappd I haven’t gotten around to yet. The biggest factor holding me back is adding all the beers it will require of me. The locals I frequent the most are Explorium Brewpub in Greendale, WI and Eagle Park Brewery and Distillery in Muskego, WI. Just yesterday I stopped at the Delafield Brewhouse and had an incredible bock. If I’m in the mood for something new and don’t feel like going to a brewery, I’ll usually stop at The Brass Tap in Greenfield, WI. Lots of variety and their flight prices are reasonable. I’ll usually try everything except the IPAs, but if I’m feeling like punishing myself I’ll ask for a sample of whatever IPA the bartender thinks I might like.
My parents couldn’t afford the real thing, so I had the generic equivalent of those. I think it was fourth grade. They had a real tough time adjusting to the reality of athletic shoes being everyday shoes, instead of just GYM SHOES.
Back in the early 2000s I found a forum for all things technology. I made a good friend there who could shoot the with the best of them. People loved reading our banter. So much so the moderator who owned and paid for the site locked us out of “our” thread because he couldn’t afford all the activity.
Deep discounts are now a permanent feature of beer retail in Germany. Never seen it remaindered. Beer is generally bought either from supermarkets or dedicated drinks warehouses (Getränkemarkt). Both produce weekly fliers featuring the week's special offer which is usually a crate of 20 bottles for as little as 10 euro (~11 USD). This will be one of the major brands like Krombacher or Veltins. Own brand (which is also quite common) might be only 8.99. The supermarkets have all the power to dictate prices. Just last November one of them was threatening to delist all AB InBev products in response to a price increase. If Franziskaner or Beck's are not in the store, people will just buy other beers. Even though some of the drinks warehouses are owned by the big brewing groups, they of course still have to compete with the supermarkets on price.
