Tell them if they added Tree House Julius they'd quadruple their business in a week.

 

I imagine they'd want to keep the price and ABV reasonable, so I'd recommend:

-Jack's Abby Post Shift Pilsner, 4.7%
-Night Shift Whirlpool New England Pale Ale, 4.5%

My first taste of homebrew actually came from Renaissance re-enactor friends who would come over to watch movies and share their beer - they'd sit on the couch and weave chainmail links the entire time!

 

Are you permitted to bring your own beer? That is what I would do.

These taps are blatantly bought and paid for. So first you'll need to find someone with a bigger pocketbook than the wholesaler currently writing those checks. A truly medieval state of affairs!

Yeah with most entertainment venues, if the food/beverages are being provided through a contract service like Aramark, you're probably SOL. Usually the best option is a "crafty" option that is owned by InBev or Molson Coors

Shipyard used to be partially owned by Miller, right? Are they still distributed by Molson/Miller Coors or whatever they are called?

 

They won't even let you bring in a water bottle?

Glad to see this post, however, they do not care. KRF is fun, albeitly wildly overpriced. It would be nice to see some proper brew.

 

Very true. I remember a day where I crushed 8 Blue Moon's sitting down while pregaming for a rave. I thought I was fine, then I stood up and my world was spinning

 

I do hate it when events’ beer selection sucks, but sometimes foregoing beer for an afternoon, especially at a family friendly event, isn’t such a bad thing. That nice option you have in your fridge when you get home will only taste better.

Last I heard Colonial Beverage distributor held the rights. They are a Miller Coors house. Their crafty options are Castle Island, Two Roads, Long Trail… those would even be improvements over what is there. Best bet is to try to contact colonial beverage and send them a message and see what they say perhaps.
Sam and Sierra Nevada are distributed by L. Knife so you won’t see those most likely. I wouldn’t be surprised if they add White Claw this year because Colonial distributes it.
Killians if memory serves correctly wasn’t sending half barrel kegs anymore and they go thru far too much to poor from sixtels.

 

Jack’s Abby is also distributed by L. Knife so I’m going to guess it will not happen if the contracts I mentioned are still in place with Colonial.

 

How many of us started out having a Blue Moon with an orange slice and thinking, “Wow, this is a beer?”

Then I crushed a billion Allagash Whites and realized, “Oh, Blue Moon isn’t that great.”

That being said had one last weekend, it did the job.

 

Yup, all good. And it’s my wife who is the one to remind me that I don’t need to drink beer everywhere I go….

 

Duh, there's no bar at the doctor's or dentist's offices. I'm not a complete lush...

The majority of people there wouldn’t understand what craft beer is.

If you’re there with family just enjoy it and find some goodies after.

 

I'll be honest, I've only had Allagash White once, and while it was good, I didn't really love it. Now, that was a relatively long time ago for my craft journey, and Wit is one of my least favorite styles. I probably owe it to myself to retry it

 

I would encourage you to do so but my guess is that your impression of this beer will be the same, but please let us know.

Is it more you didn't like the beer, or more that you don't really care for the style?

The only other one I've had that rivals it is St. Bernardus Wit, but that's not the easiest to find fresh.

Was on tap at Brewer's Fork a couple weeks ago though, which is a treat.

Unfortunate that the selection is bad there, but like others said, deep pockets are probably making those choices. I attend NYRF and MDRF every year, and both have better selections....they usually have Sam Adams in any case.

 

Mostly the style for me. But I know it's a technically well done version of the style so I feel like it's worth a shot to try again. It's not like I hated it so even if I don't love it it's not a waste
