Highland Park: Bottle Friends & Public Releases (2019)

Past Future is tasting pretty damn good right now. Unfortunately, they hadn't tapped Timbo yet when i got there.

 

That being said, I'm fairly sure that the stock of 90 Hour Days cans at Chinatown ran out far faster than Cloud Party.

 

Is it gonna me a shit-show down there at opening tomorrow? I don’t do shit-shows.

 

Pretty much everyone from the Three Chiefs crowd will be there

 

My plan is to get there at 6am tomorrow, not to double-dip on getting a bottle, but to get in line at the front door so I can grab one of the seats at the bar right next to a beertender when they open. Get a No Rest, a few No Rest's w/coffee to fill my stealth vest crowler, 1/2 a Black Bulb, and then a Fake Names or two, and book out of there if I'm still standing. Or just stay and enjoy the shit show!

Oh, and as tempted as I was with the foot long dog today I stuck with my usual Filet-uh-fish which was incredible as always but lacked the fun pickled vegetables.

 

Had a blast yesterday! Was really happy that it wasn't crazy at opening, the beers were fantastic, but the hot dog was just ok. After we left HPB we hit Guerilla Tacos for supper, then Mumford and Modern Times for beer, early dinner and more beer at Beachwood, beer at the Blendery, and then ended up back at HPB at 10pm for a late snack and one last beer. And HPB was totally packed. That was a good day.

 

Grabbed some of this tasty little IPA yesterday as well as some Timbo, plenty left when we got there around 3PM.

From yesterday's pub crawl. No Rest. My 1st anything from the crazy hype machine @ 3 Chiefs. The cedar is very prominent, burnt sugar, bitter bakers chocolate, faint wisps of vanilla and coconut. Overall it's pretty disjointed and got even more as it warmed which should be the opposite. Not bad, the 6oz pour was more than enough for me.

I stopped by Chinatown yesterday to try some of the HYPE BEAST and it was fine?

Decent coconut flavor, didn’t get much cedar on my end and the vanilla became prominent as it warmed up. I dug the coffee variant a lot more.

My one issue is that it was just too T H I C C.

 

One week without a post what



Slowly picking up my allocation 6 bottles at a time via metro. Grabbed some No Rest with trystero coffee, with @trysterocoffee. My only complaint is that it was too chilly out for it to really warm up, grabbed a crowler I can leave out for a bit before digging into later this week.

Collective Blend #2 can't come out soon enough, the preview pour of that was fantastic.

 

Besides "No Rest," I don't think I've jumped at an HPB sale quicker than Collective Blend #2
