Buy all the Comp, Hello LA, and Timbo. Their hazies are fine, but those 3 are what you want.
I'll second Hello, LA. It's up there with Amalgamator for my favorite WCIPA
Got one of Super Cloud, one Competition, one Hello, and a crowler of Griffith.
Tried one can of each. Hello LA is by far my favorite; tropical and dank, really fantastic. Competition was a bit less pungent on the nose than I expected, but still okay. Super Cloud was whatever; not as chalky as some of their double hazies (which I don't enjoy), but also not really bright or interesting on the nose.
I wish I got more Hello, and Timbo.
How fresh are the Timbo cans right now?
Not sure, my cans from delivery were 3 weeks old. But they are almost gone at this point so it's moot.
That’s why I didn’t get any Timbo last Saturday’s delivery. I figured Timbo cans were a bit old. @Dansac next batch of fresh Timbo drop, get. I’m a ipa kinda guy. Just starting to get into Pils. Timbo by far is the go to. Fresh.
We all need to drink as much Timbo as possible to get fresh Timbo
Per their Instagram, Timbo was canned yesterday
Super Cloud is always good
anyone know if the Timbo available at the brewery is fresh or a few weeks old?
Canned 8/19. Cheers!
Can confirm. Still fresh.
you are upside down again Gunz
I’m an upside guy living in an downside world these days. Trying to get back inside.
I'm the only person who sees "Highland Park" and thinks the scotch
Anyone have a recommendation for a dim sum spot near HPB Chinatown?
Anyone tried the Cellarmaker collab and/or Standing in the Sun? Impressions? I'm grabbing a few sixers tomorrow, and would like some pointers if possible.
I had the Cellarmaker collab, Good Luck Sandwich, and thought it was pretty darn tasty.
Cracked open one of my Fuerte Mañanas and it is tasty Mighty. Fine.
I thought Strong Tomorrow was just OK but the barrel aging really helped elevate it. Better mouthfeel, deeper flavor.
I’ve had to stop myself from cracking open my second bottle but I don’t know how long that’s gonna last.
I think of the high school Clayton Kershaw & Matt Stafford both attended
is there mascot The Chokers?
Got the Cellarmaker collab, Standing in the Sun, Hello, and Timbo.
All four were excellent. Standing in the Sun is quite dry, has that dank and green quality from the Strata and a bit of bitterness; and the Cellarmaker Pale is deliciously fresh, citrusy, bright with the hops, easy drinking, wonderful for the weather. Timbo and Hello are brethen, with them glorious tropical dank notes.
I think as long as I skip their haze I'm rarely let down by HPB. They do everything else extremely well.
Just ordered the Timbo Pils, Losing Control and Standing in the Sun half case. Looking forward to trying a haze and a west coast. I know what I’m getting with Timbo.
Drinking my last Fuerte Mañana, this beer is so delicious! Pairing well with a Montecristo Classic. Hope there's a cellar sale on this down the road.
Still haven't picked up my allotments lol
Digging this year's Fest Bier. Malty, clean and not cloyingly sweet.
I also grabbed a stein, it's a nice hefty boy that just has enough space for a 16 oz can. I kind of think The Hermosillo's stein from a few years ago looks a little bit better but I still dig this one.
Extended patio opening up this Friday at noon
Just got some Timbo, Festbier, Baseball, and Confirmed Goodness delivered.
It's going to be a damn good week!
Grabbed some Yeah Yeah and Festbier the other day. Goddamn Yeah Yeah is fantastic
You'll quickly realize you messed up... by only getting 1 Timbo.
No complaints here. It was a gift. But I'll be ordering a case of Timbo next time.
More was very interesting. It tasted like an Alvarado St hazy, with none of that chalky resiny quality of HBP doubles. It is super smooth, with smell of cantaloupe and pineapple, and a bit too sweet for my taste. But definitely a step in the right dieection. DDH Past Future was the best hazy I've had from them since 90h Pils, maybe ever. It had that Monkish greenness to it that I love.
The hazelnut impy stout was unreal too.
Electric Living in cans is back.. this stuff is fantastic!
Is the original highland park brewery/Hermosillo open today?
Hope to see more of Trystero beans at HpB . Brazil Ipe is definitely was a crowd pleasure today. Bummed I missed out on some Ethiopian though.
I bought myself a four pack of Ultra Cloud and, Jesus, this stuff is freaking hot.
I can't believe that after all this time they haven't learned to tame down the resiny hop burn thing. At least this one doesn't taste like grinded chalk. I thought they had learned from ASB to do a balanced haze, since More was super smooth, and the hop oils came out really wonderfully, even if the beer was too sweet. But this stuff is just a hop smoothie, and while tasty, it is fucking abrasive.
I'm staying clear of their haze from now on, for good.
I haven't tried this batch, but this is my general impression of their hazy IPA.
