Picking up High 7 was definitely the closest call I’ve had to forfeiting bottles. I had an issue with my first bottle but happy I have two more.

Something stout-y inbound, I'm figuring from previous BF emails it's another batch of Colonel GJG.

Hey, a co-worker and I were hoping to hit up HPB Chinatown after work tomorrow. Can anyone who’s visited recently and drank out on the patio let me know how it was? Is there a long wait time if we were to go around 5 or 6? The website says there is a 90 min time limit for eating and drinking on the patio, is this rule enforced strictly?

  8. annakarina

    annakarina Aspirant (220) Jul 29, 2016 California

There was barely any wait when I went there over the weekend a few weeks ago but the 90 minute limit was definitely enforced.

I only ordered 2 bottles just for that reason. One to drink and another to share.

there were some bangers last year I really enjoyed including the Horus collab and the apple brandy one. I also really liked the hazelnut partially barrel aged one too

I was wondering the same thing. Talking to Alex at Windsor, he was under the impression that it's the same Timbo recipe, just brewed at Green Cheek. Then they just inserted their bird on the artwork. Guess it's just kind of paying homage to them for Timbo now being this big deal. Also, they've collaborated a few times so they are probably just buds showing the love.

Well the Chreky Timbo, 1 day fresh was delicious as hell. The freshest I’ve had HpB Timbo was maybe week plus old? Both are equally great IMO.

They were all the same* recipe, They all tasted a bit different, but seemed to highlight almost different elements of what make Timbo great, theyre all blending together now, but it was like one highlighted the mosaic, one highlighted the citra, one highlighted the pilsner backbone, etc. All great versions of a classic beer. I do remember really thinking to myself that Cellarmakers tasted the most like an HPB beer, but was a little closer to a mini version of Hello, LA, but not a bad one among them Pinthouse, Green Cheek, Cellarmaker, and Cloudburst all killed it!

Grabbed cans of all the Timbo variants from HPB (and the Green Cheek one) except for Limbo. Looking forward to doing a most excellent Timbo Tasting.

Kind of bummed cans didn’t last long at the tasting room and that it didn’t make it to distro as far as I know.

Any thoughts on the Other Half / HPB collab? Thinking of getting a few delivered but I've had very inconsistent experiences with both of their hazies.

Has anyone done the walk to Dodger Stadium from the brewery? Plan on catching a game there and figure it'd be better than walking over to Union Station to take the Stadium Express. Would I be better off riding a scooter from the brewery instead?

its not too bad, 30 mins or so. I prefer to take an Uber up the hill and walk back down the hill after the game

Took a scooter most of the way up to the stadium for last night’s game and then did the complete walk back to the brewery.

Boy, it’s not exactly a pedestrian friendly experience. Especially after having some beers at HPB beforehand.

Speaking of which, Lateral Dreams was…fine? Didn’t think it was all that juicy or hoppy.

But, I really dug Parallel Lager. The lime gives it some zip and makes for a refreshing beverage during a warm and sunny day.
