GJG will be on target around LA Beer week like last year. though, the barrel will always be the deciding factor on if it's ready. But that's when the last BA GJG was released and the target of the new one.

Yeah, those barrels in the parking lot do have beer and they don't fluctuate that much in temp. And yes, that's how Sun Soaked gets its name. Barrels sitting in the sun.

Also, that Monkish collab.. yeah, that's going to be a very interesting multi-version bottle release now that I got more info on it. Very interesting how that's going to work out.

for the record, BA GJG barrels are in the makeshift container cooler.

It was tasting really good out of the bottle. Though the first part of the bottle was really a different beast than the last part of the bottle. looked like a night and day comparison of a east coast vs. west coast beer. Yeasty.

On a side note, the fresh keg of Bonkers put on tap had a lot of yeasty going on and really looked like something Monkish would be bottling. Soooo juicy. Dat East Coast Bonkers rarity.

A Bonkers keg blew on my friend Sunday, and his glass was the most turbid east coast IPA I ever seen. Almost traded a Juice Box for his last ounce.

@clayfu haha, no recipe change! We don't filter any beers, we use finings and let the beers settle bright. Occasionally toward the end of kegging off beer we'll get a keg or two with a bit more hop sediment. Those couple kegs get a little more added hop charge:slight_smile:

heads up from the management to spread the word. If anyone is bottle sharing tomorrow it needs to clear out by 6pm before the bar gets bum rushed by the evening crowd.

Thought I'd get more people excited about a hazy milkshake IPA from HPB but it's just the very last pour from the keg of Bonkers that Bob had @Goldstar81 and I try it. I had a bonkers from maybe 6 pours before that still in the glass and they looked completely different.

The beers were also obviously different on the palate. Didn't have the hoppy bitter bite on the back end. Less complexity of flavor as the regular bonkers is an explosion of fruit/pine/hop but much more pleasing texture wise on the palate as it had more structure and it just had a better mouthfeel as it was silkier and softer and sat longer on the palate. Both are great beers but for me, I'm big on texture and feel on the palate and I really liked the dregs.

I'm pretty sure if Bob wanted to, he could catch the craze like his buddies at Monkish but he's a man of his own style and will keep making the killer beer he does on his own terms and we'll still love it ;D.

    Neon next friday!
