Avery's The Czar - not really all that hyped, but it was terrible.

Stone Ruination IPA didn't do it for me, it was good but it didn't blow me away. Especially for $4.49 for a single 12 oz bottle.

Boulevard Rye-on-rye. I would drink Ruthless over this any day; Rye-on--rye was too boozy and just didn't taste as much like rye as I'd hoped. Always sucks when I really like a brewery and expect to at least like everything I try from them; I wouldn't be upset with myself if I never have this again.

I didn't like this years Pliny the Younger. I had a full pour that I had to force mysef to finish. It was missing the bright, sticky pineapple that I enjoyed last year. The color seemed to be a bit hazier. So, not sure if it it wasn't stored well.

I will never understand the racer 5 fanfare. Very average brew to me.

Sucaba all day long...great beer but not deserving of all the fuss, would much rather just pick up a Cockeyed Cooper which is cheaper and more widely available (which gets no love by the way) and be done with it.

In fairness to the comparison between Rye-on-Rye and Ruthless, the former is 12% abv compared to the latter's 6.6%. That said, while I really like RoR, the whiskey cask flavor overpowers the rye so I agree that there isn't as much rye flavor as one might expect. It's funny you mention that about Boulevard, because I recently tried their Pilsner and just didn't really care for it.

You bring up a good point about the ABV difference; I took that into consideration when I was drinking it but for some reason didn't mention it. And that's interesting about their pilsner. I don't think I've seen it around here.

I totally agree. Wet may change your mind as that is amazing. Besides Wet, I have not been impressed at all.

I dont understand the words "Sucks" and "Sucaba" in the same sentence.... unless it includes an "very much less than equal sign"

cause they are from different planets....I mean Sucks is pretty good and all....

Dark Lord by far. Such a sticky mess. Never tried any of the other variants, but on its own it's a disaster. I love Three Floyds, but every release i have had has been way too sweet and thick to the point where it should be poured over ribs. Considering that they are good friends with the folks at Surly, they should take a hint and get some tips on brewing an imperial stout from a true master like Todd.
