Not to distract from the discussion, but I'm seeing some google reviews where people are saying they are having beers at the brewery on the porch. I know the taproom isn't open, so I assume people are using curbside and having a can or two on the grass/porch. What have people been hearing about 'on-site' consumption?

You might be referring to Vera Mae/dandelion picking, which has been traditionally offered to volunteers

It was a google review "Was great to make the trip up to Hill Farmstead and enjoy some solid beers on the porch!" Maybe that just means they bought some beers and drank them on a porch "somewhere" v. on the porch there. I'm going to stick with curbside and find a porch to drink them on!

Recent Susan with a heavier aromatic lens than the 5/2021 iterations: batch is intricately conscious of the citrus grind that’s sensibly soothed across a grassed dankness

Not surprised to see an event cancelation.

Not sure I’d blame it on short staffed issues or the pandemic that’s basically a non issue her now. But hey, at least they are giving $ back. Just not piece of mind yet.

At last, a refund. Been sitting on that purchase for 15 months. Not happy news, but the relief at least is appreciated.

Before any of the ratmagnet stuff came out they had already said they didn't plan to open the tasting room this year.

It's pretty obvious that the time they (Shaun) spent on hiatus led them to make some serious changes going forward about how the brewery would operate.

But it sounds like you must have more intimate knowledge of the goings on at HF than they do.

Soft reopening of the tap room tomorrow - invite just went out to those that have orders for curbside pick up. Very limited #. I saw the email about 45 minutes after it was sent and it had already filled. So happy they are reopening!!

It’s a post on a board about beer. I typed it out on a small phone keyboard. Hardly anything to worry about. I assume you still understood my point. It wasn’t that confusing after reading it again. Thank you for your concern.

BTW - glad to see Farmhouse Tap has re-instated HF beers after a brief hiatus a few weeks ago -- Susan and Edward both in top form this past Saturday.

Going to be visiting HF this week for the first time ever and the timing couldn't have worked out more perfectly. On-site reservations just opened up this evening, and I snagged a reservation for a table with my buddy. Looks like there are still noon slots available on Wednesday through the Tock reservation page for those interested. So excited!

HF beers are back on tap at Farmhouse now. Nothing has changed about the allegations, so not sure what changed in their moral conscience. Their "stand for what's right" did win your business though.

What’s your point? That I was somehow wrong to sarcastically point out that businesses are free to choose whom they do business with and on what basis? If so, why lol?…

Well following your own logic, businesses can make their own decisions and consumers can point out the absurdity of those decisions.

Yes, exactly. I'm still not sure what the initial absurdity was -- that's what I was poking fun at, the idea that it would be "absurd" for a business to choose to do or not do business with another based on these allegations. It sounds like you've come around to my idea there, I guess?

Maybe there was just a miscommunication! ... but I'm not quite sure what the issue was with my other comment, especially if you're now endorsing that same approach.

Depends on what state the brewery is in.
    MA - no
    NH - no
    ME - no
    VT - yes
Those are the only states I know of without looking it up

What's the deal with onsite? Is there a fixed menu like they were doing last year? Or is it a more open menu?

From the pictures I’ve seen on FB, it’s a normal menu (e.g. pre-COVID). A few draft options (including Charlie, a new 1.7% table beer), and 5 or so bottle options (the menu I saw had Flora 2016, an older fruited Flora, CD19, an older Dorothy, and E., I think?

I wonder if the HF crew are learning how to brew some lagers that don't cost an arm and a leg while they are over in the Czech Republic. That would be dope!

Doesn’t require going to the Czech Republic to learn that.. pretty basic maths

Triple the brewhouse size and more than triple the fermenters.. Brew 24/7 365.

None of those things are happening anytime soon in Greensboro.

    Thank god

Very much agree. I see port aged stouts get some guff, but this one was excellent.

Also, I don't know what to make of Sankt yet. It's.......fine? I haven't put together how much the barrel process helped the base beer.

Florence Foudre is the balls. These are my official and painstaking reviews.

Had the Florence Foudre, which I enjoyed. Unfortunately I didn’t have a regular Florence available with which to compare. If only I had held on to a Florence or two from last year. Haven’t opened a Sankt yet, but I am hoping for good things. Looks like from your take on it, the barrels haven’t significantly changed the beer from its original state (?) Again, if only I had a regular Sankt Hands with with which to compare.

Had a Hans this year and remember it vividly, which is why I didn't that significant difference you get between a base and barrel aged Hill beer.

Grabbed some cans of Edward and Nelson this past trip as well, and I don't remember Edward being so damn good.
