Wednesdays are "better" than Saturdays if you are worried about waiting (though yesterday had a pretty long line right when they opened). As for releases, pay attention to BA and HFs website.

We will release Genealogy of Morals and Phenomenology of Spirit beginning at 12 p.m. here at the brewery. There will be a bottle-only line outside at the pavillion for these two bottles only; other bottles and growler fills will take place, as normal, in the retail shop. Any remaining bottles will be sold on the retail shelf beginning Friday, July 26, during normal retail hours.

Genealogy of Morals: Wheat/Coffee Imperial Stout, VW and BT barrels: 500ml 15$ LIMIT 4
Phenomenology of Spirit: Our Dark Saison. This version was sent through our coolship and 100% spontaneously fermented with Greensboro/Hill Farmstead airborne yeast. 375ml. 15$. LIMIT 4

Hope they last until the Friday before FoFA!

Elaborative #1 lasted a few weeks... so anything is possible. I think its safe to assume they are in the neighborhood of 1500-2000 bottle releases... just given the recent pattern on counts and limits... but I know someone can chime in and confirm/deny that for certain... little help Shaun?

I was hoping there might even be another release before or in conjunction with the FoFA. I will be in the area that weekend (but unfortunately did not score tickets).

Loved the last run of GoM in Madeira barrels which was also made with rye.. i'm sure this will be a fantastic beer.

I'd agree on the bottle count based on the limit of 4 per person. I think Madness 1, Elaborative 1 and CD6 were all ~1600 or so and I remember Shaun saying that the Elaborative 1 limit was set conservatively based on how Norma and other recent releases had went. Madness 1 and CD6 were adjusted based on lower turnout. As far as how long they last, it's hard to say... with this 4 per limit on each and them doing a separate "bottle release" outside, it might be more like the Madness/CD release where tons of people show up and they only last a few days.

I wanted to have some optimism... but in reality I doubt they last the weekend, if they see Saturday at all.

But to quote Willy Wonka - "Oh, you should never, never doubt what nobody is sure about"

With 2 of the last 3 lasting as long as they did and GoM lasting at least a week+ last Fall... I don't think they'll sell out same day or even that weekend.. then again, the Spirit was in a coolship and GoM was in VW and BT barrels... we all know what happens when those words are thrown around..

Both releases are between 1,100 and 1,400 bottles for release.
That's between 250 and 350 total people served. The hope is that they will not last further than Saturday.
We will likely shift the limit from 4 on Thursday to 2 on Friday/Saturday.

I figured it was possible they might have a specified number of those for sale to attendees of FoFA. I have my fingers crossed that some might be reserved for a bottle release the Thursday before or the morning after. But just wishful thinking on my part since I am going to be in the area.

You know what would be equally awesome? If the people who weren't fortunate enough to score tickets to FoFA got a chance to grab some Flora a week or two after the lucky ticket winners got to sample a wide range of saisons and wild ales, including (if I'm not mistaken) Flora. :stuck_out_tongue:

How much of a mad house will it be on Thursday? The reason I ask is its my gf birthday and if I drag her there and have to wait for hours I might not make it home alive.

Any golf course recommendations for a couple mid to low handicappers between HF and waterbury?

The longest waits in my experience are for growler fills. I arrived at the last release at maybe the worst possible time, around 12:20, and had maybe a 70 minute wait for bottles. The subsequent wait for growlers was close to double that though, and the bottle release line became practically non-existent as the day went on.

Last release I got there around 11 and was about 100 back in line. We waited for an hr or so for the line to start moving, and from then it was about an hr wait. If you come later in the day, you'll maybe have better luck, but maybe not.

Last release I got there at 10:45 and was number 35. Like Franklinn said, if you get there early you'll have to wait until the release starts and then wait until you get through the line. Growlers are going to be difficult no matter what. Honestly, I think the best approach last time would have been to go directly into the growler line, get your growlers and then get into the bottle line. But if there's huge turnout, there's always a risk you get shut out of something.
