Damn, that might be hard to pull off the day after Winter Warmer.

 

Nevermind, I was mistaken! Just know it's coming in the next couple weeks!

 

I thought the brewer said it was coming either this weekend or next? Since we didn't hear anything this weekend, I assumed it would be next. At least, I'm hoping it is.

 

Konkey Dong confirmed for 2/19 on Brown Paper Tickets. 800 tickets this time. Looks like two shifts as someone mentioned previously on this thread.

 

God damn Fitness Freak was good. I wasn't expecting that. Really, really intense and delicious.

They need to get their shit together at the brewpub though. Food is going downhill--dry, funky, and getting weirder instead of more approachable. And the service, almost non-existent. Fine on a slow day, but they can't handle a crowd.

At least Big Trouble in Little China was playing.

 

Just had one myself, and agree, really tasting great.

I notice the can says shake vigorously, which I did, and when opened a couple shots sprayed out, but it did pour mostly like nitro and developed a frothy head which stuck around for 25 minutes or so. It's a bit odd there isn't an actual nitro widget in there.

I'm having a hard time imagining nitro Miracle Toast without a widget, since you can't exactly vigorously shake a beer.

This coffee is strong as hell though. With it being cold, it's a little hard to finish before it loses it's full body. My head is really buzzing and I'm only a third of the way through.

 

Yeah, I actually noticed how strong the coffee was too! Had a whole can and was a little shaky after which never ever happens. Must be really potent in terms of the caffeine. Wouldn't drink a whole can to myself again.

When I went to Hoof for the EWS / Zipper Ripper release, the guy at the counter when I bought a 4-pack of Nitro coffee told me that the max you should drink is one can. The stuff is insanely caffeinated. According to him, most cold brews use a 1/2 pound of beans to 1 gallon of water. Hoof used double that, 1 pound of beans to 1 gallon of water.
The stuff is intense.

 

The coffee is a great pre-workout. That amount of caffeine would also explain why I have been super tired the past few days after drinking 1 can a day for a few days in a row.

 

Has key bump ever been available for draft? Haven't seen anything on it and interested to make a release soon. Don't think I can make konkey next week. All my money for beer this month has been consumed by my Pittsburgh excursion.

 

Ah, that makes a lot of sense! Going forward, I'd only have 1/2 a can. Man, could I feel it and I almost never notice caffeine!

 

Fitness Freak on draft Saturday was crazy good, making me also bring home a growler full. Also enjoyed Zipper Ripper on draft and grabbed a bunch of Musk cans to-go. For my first Hoof experience, I'm really pleasantly surprised and will for sure be looking to try more in the future.

 

Seriously, Fitness Freak may have just created unreasonable expectations in me for any other stouts they put out. I'd take it over damn near all of the Top 250 flavored stouts.

 

Glad to hear so many good things about Fitness Freak, considering it is loaded up in all those bourbon barrels in Marengo!

Which by the way will be released when ready as 2-pack cans. So that's pretty cool.

 

How many barrels they have?
