FWIW, someone in a Facebook group posted a photo of a can filled with water. QC continues to be an issue.

Slo Turbo and EWS Ella are on the docket this weekend. Tickets were slow to sell; likely due to fatigue on Slo Turbo and how it was released recently at the brewpub.

People lose their shit for days when Jackie O's puts out some soured bottles but Hoof fans ^^ gloss right over some frightening looking can full of feces or something.

Like, how do you even know that is safe to drink? They need to recall the whole batch and everything canned that day.

These aren't home brews your dad is passing out, their get out if if jail free cards have expired. It's sickening.

The guy who drank the water is a dumbass... could've been sanitizer. It's worrying that you'd need to pour your beer out of the can to make sure you're not gonna get sick.

@BigSpeen3436 did you contact or share this with anyone at Hoof yet? I'm curious to see if they even give a damn.

Seems about right in the Hoof world.

Welp, it didn't kill me. A buddy split a can with me a week or two ago and this one honestly didn't taste or smell that much different. I didn't contact Hoof about it but if it tasted how it looked, I would have.

Giving some actual advice to Hoof fans (for some reason); putting pressure on them and not letting them get away with these kinds of amature fuck ups will have a positive effect for you, the customer.

Force them to improve themselves and you will get better beer. Continuing to give a lazy hand wave and a pass to this stuff is simply saying you're happy to pay up for subpar beer.

And that's the root of my displeasure with Hoof and their followers. What kind of precedent does this set for beer in our city/state? Certainly not a positive one. Why can't we demand excellence in our local craft beer scene? That's the best way to grow and improve our city and the options we have.

I don't know why people who don't drink Hoof are here spending their morning complaining about this.

Hoof has refunded people in the past with little more than a dented or torn can to show for it.

Their "don't give a fuck attitude" extends to "Making it right" as well...bring your can, or just show a picture, and you'll be compensated if history is an indicator.

I actually do drink Hoof on occasion. It’s not fair for me to be critical if I don’t drink it

Honestly, I was not referring to you, but the one permanent Hoof troll. And I have genuine curiosity if he has ever had a can of Hoof beer, at least in the past year, if not ever.

That said, I am no Hoof apologist, least among anyone else here. But the fact that they considered it relevant to bring up another brewery's situation relative to Hoof, who comparatively sight unseen offers full refunds, is simply not valid in any way. There are so many differentiating factors, such as price, volume, and severity, not to mention distance, for most.

I have indeed had several Hoof beers, as Ryan said, I'm critical because I've had experiences to base the criticism off of. I know it's easy for you to try to dismiss the posts you don't like by jumping to conclusions but you're seldom bringing any proof along with these conclusions.

Just read my post above if you're wondering why I care about this.

Maybe Hoof does refund people, but people really need to take them up on that. At the very least give the brewers some heads up to what's going on, give them a chance to prove they care and can address problems and improve their output.

If that sounds to you like I'm being an overly critical Hoof troll then perhaps you only read of it what you want to read.

What did I dismiss, and why is it any sweat off your back if I do?

Proof of what conclusion? For what reason?

I don't see a post that explains why you care about this--I don't see any indication you've ever been affected by this.
They do refund, it's pretty much widely available beer-geek knowledge at this point...

But I agree, affected consumers should let Hoof know. Why not? However, coming here and bashing them with an endless string of personally directed and offensive insults regarding something you aren't affected by is just sour grapes and vindictive immaturity. For someone that never ceases to lecture us on how juvenile this brewery is, you never fail to stoop to their level.

And I remind you, I am not a Hoofy fanboy--I've spent plenty of my own time criticizing them here and directly at them as well. Sitting perched and ready to pounce at any opportunity to tear down a brewery is unattractive and ineffective, particularly when it comes from the same guy over and over again. I didn't say shit about Jackie O's infection issues until I realized it hit me in the wallet, in a big way. I spent close to $1,000 during their Anniversary, and overall spend way more on Jackie O's over the course of the past year, hell, over the course of my beer-consuming life, than I ever have or ever will on Hoof.

You're trying to say that I have never had any Hoof beer and therefore I shouldn't be critical of them. No part of that is true in any way, and if you are going to jump to conclusions like that you should have some sort of proof to explain why you aren't just being totally dismissive. Pretty simple, I don't even know why you asked for clarification there, it's just how basic conversation works.

Here's my post where I explain why this matters to me and why it should matter to other Ohio beer fans.
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/hoof-hearted-brewing-2018.553555/page-3#post-5894816

If they offer refunds good for them, good for you, good for me. But it's bad for everyone if people continue to simply expect this stuff and say "oh that's just the wacky nature of Hoof Hearted, gotta love em! Anyway what's out next Sunday...."

The comparison to the Jackie O's situation was a comparison of the discussions amongst the customers, not a comparison of either brewery or their QC issues. I do find it interesting that people are almost poised to accept a messed up beer from Hoof. Even after seeing what accountability can do for a brewery's product.

And just to add some more clarification of my stance on this because some people will no doubt need it...

Hoof Hearted is currently one of the most well known Ohio breweries in certain beer nerd circles. Is this kind of amateur stuff a proud representation of our beer scene? If given the choice would you elect such a brewery to be an ambassador of the Ohio or Columbus scene?

Pressure them to improve and maybe then they will earn their hype.

I don't know, but in the end my opinion is that Ohioans are damned good at shitting on their own breweries, as opposed to building them up and offering constructive criticism. There are very few Ohio beers any significant amount of people outside of our state care about that aren't widely distributed, whether warranted or not. Maybe it's a carryover from our pro sports culture...but I don't get it.

I'm actually giving Hoof loads of benefit of the doubt here so I'm far from shitting on them. Weird thing for a permanent Hoof troll to do, I know, but if we have to live in a city with Hoof Hearted we can at least demand to live with the best Hoof Hearted can do.

I mean hell, all the people who suggest visitors hit HH when in town should find that they have a stake in this.

I haven't read the last several posts but I found it funny how strange my beer looked so I posted it here. That was late last night. I wasn't in the mood to type out a formal message to Hoof letting them know of the issue. It's been a crazy couple days and letting a brewery know of an issue with my beer has been very low on my list of priorities. I didn't purchase said beer. It was given to me by a friend that I hooked up with some Hoof beers from a previous release.
