Is anyone else in Ohio in love with this place as much as me right now? Allow me to lay out my points in numerical form...

1.) Incredible bad ass pale ales: My infatuation started with Musk of the Minotaur. What a fantastic IPA that is... and then BAM, they hit me with Dragonsaddle, which is one of the best triple IPAs I've ever had after the likes of Triple Sunshine... and potentially better than Creeper IMO. South of Eleven is a DIPA citrus dream that I don't even need to vouch for, and then they hit me with this batch of Konkey Dong. I'm assuming most people haven't had this one quite yet, so allow me to explain... Konkey Dong is a tropical-paradise DIPA clocking in at 8% with lovely pineapple notes taking the forefront. As I described it last night, it's like if "Kokomo" by The Beach Boys was a beer. Honestly being objective as possible here, I rank it right up there with the likes of Abner, Focal Banger, King Sue, etc.

2.) Pint cans, say whaaaa?! Yeah, their to-go/distro offerings come in reasonably priced pint cans with such incredible artwork as a Donkey Kong replica and a demon eagle... thing...

3.) Stouts with actual good adjuncts right here I'm talking about Mom Jeans, a coffee milk stout that isn't mind-blowing by any means, but is a solid stout nonetheless with a delicious roasted coffee flavor. Their adjunct game is already B+ and there's a ton of potential there.

4.) Good sours with bomb ass fruit?! Take my money! While I was there on Sunday, they had a beer on tap (available for growler fills) called Fruit Saxx, a gose with passionfruit and mango. It was a tart, super fruity, and easily crushable gose at a good price point. I know it's not a lambic or a barrel-aged AWA or any of that jazz, but oh well, it was delicious and in my opinion, the best sour I've ever had out of central Ohio.

I should also mention that they have a truly helpful and kind staff, but I understand that's probably not relevant to many people who don't plan on visiting the actual brewery, but rather may just be interested in the beer itself. Nothing wrong with that.

So there you have it- the Hoof Hearted post I felt obliged to make.

Do you know what happened? A little over a year ago their beer was not very good.

Personally I've only cared for Roller Blabe so far. I haven't tried Konkey Dong yet. The can I got of South of Eleven had some diacetyl. Nothing overly offensive but definitely there and for sure an off flavor.

Funny, because the ratings I have of their beers from 2014 are very "meh" and forgettable. It wasn't until very recently that I started to take notice with the true quality of their IPAs, so you may be on to something. I have not had Roller Blabe yet although it's now a big want based on reviews.

I try so hard not to homer that I think I actually end up rating a little unfairly to local breweries sometimes. But objectively speaking, having compared their current offerings to the best the rest of the country has to offer, I think you should give them another shot. However, I should also mention that my reviews all relate to the quality of their canned and on-site product, and I can't speak for any distributed kegs, as I have not tried those.

I really like Group Saxx, Roller Blabe and Musk of the Minotaur... I love South of Eleven.

Their brewery is a cool little place too...wife, dog, and myself all had a great time at the South of Eleven release a few weeks ago.

I know for Konkey Dong and Blabe, they've changed the yeast strain, supposedly the same strain HF and Alchemist uses, respectively. SoE is solid, more of a west coast style DIPA, while Konkey and Blabe definitely resemble what's coming out of NE/VT. Good stuff for sure. This batch of Konkey is the tits. I personally like it better than Blabe.

@queerforbeer Can chime in, as he is very close to the Head Brewer and helps them out a lot.

Hoof Hearted has taken over the new to Ohio thread and it's well deserved! I suppose this thread is warranted in the same way Trillium and Tree House have their own threads in the New England section. Not saying HH is at that level, but now we have a place to go all fan boy crazy. Chalk me up as having S11 as my personal favorite, looking forward to Blabe on the 18th.

Is the taproom open on Sunday's if they aren't having a "canning party"?

Hoof Hearted bi-monthly canning releases are saving me a ton of money in FedEx charges spent trying to get fresh NE hops.

Has anyone noticed significant batch variation from the first canning run of S11 and Musk? Could DEFINITELY be my palate, but I remember the first canning run to be much more flavorful. Second set of cans of each tasted "hollow" and dare I say it - more watery than what I remember the first time.

Blabe has been my favorite by far, but I pick up my 4 cans of Konkey Dong today.

AMEN! Hoof Hearted scratching that "itch" for me, while Head Hunter and White Rajah fill the west coast hop cravings. All in all, I think I'm finished trading for IPAs which is glorious.

Bring on JuJu and Bodhi bottles (is it 2016 yet?)!

I NEED A TEKU. I was like, "Oh I don't want to spend $15 on that glass..." And now, I am Hoof Hearted teku-less and sad. 'Hoping they have some available on the 18th.

I can't speak for So11 but the two batches of Musk were different hops. Can't remember the details, maybe someone else can chime in.

Love Hoof! Always have a great time. Still have yet to have one of my Konkey's I got last Sunday... This weekend most likely, pour that bad boy into my HH Teku! (Which I almost passed on myself, but it was too hard to resist especially once they re-stocked it after running out).

Loved that Mom Jean's last weekend... Fruit Saxx is awesome as well.

How could you pass on a "tooting" Teku?!? I feel so classy when I use it
